How to adjust p-brake handle?

I tried to change engine oil by myself today. Almost killed myself! Because the p-brake is a little bit loose. When I pulled the handle to the extreme up position, the car still has a tend to move. Is there a way to adjust this by myself?

10mm deep socket with a 1/4inch rachet drive.
right where the ebrake handle is, you pop up the surrounding piece trim and there is a little nut and just tighten it.
if that doesnt work then it might mean you may be needing new brakes i believe.

im where you are at right now, my brakes tend to move even when its pulled to the very top, so i put bricks and stoppers behind the wheels to prevent it from moving. and i am needing new brakes.
hope that helped.

Thank you dxaveP5. But I tried this afternoon, I could not remove the surounding piece trim by pulling them up. Is there any trick to remove them, without damage?

its just a little piece it should pop out easily when you first open up the center compartment (elbow) and then that little piece round the ebrake should just come right out very easily.

Open the console door. Put p/brake at half up. PUll the top of the trim - it lifts up and forward.

Tighten the p/brake nut with the handle down. Do a few turns and then check to see if the car still rolls when off. If you tighten too much -the brakes drag... After a drive make sure they are not hot.

Best way is to jack the rear end (chock the front wheels - i know you know that NOW ;) ) so you can spin the rear wheels and ensure BOTH wheels stop with the handle up and release when down.
