bumper support

Here is a pic from a 3rd gen dx, lx or es sedan. The foam peice I have circled in red....are those on the mp3 as well? Right underneath those foam peices should be a black plastic (support peice?) and its also right in front of the headlight. My bumper rattles like CRAZY on both sides on those black plastic things. Just wondering if the mp3 came with those foam peices and if so, then I am somehow missing them. I was thinking about just removing the plastic peices(not sure if they are important or not) when I ran into this photo showing a foam peice in the exact location

im not sure about the MP3 but since you have the same bumper as the P5 im going to assume this:
you have a completely different bumper support then that, ours is just foam over black metal, not plastic
and we dont have those foam pieces, we have plastic black ones that sit underneath the headlight

Heres a pic of my cut bumper support to clarify:

this bumper support doesnt have the foam over it obviously but thats what yours should look like

Yes that is what mine looks like. Its the two plastic things right under the headlight on both sides directly to the left and right of the bungie cords. Are they nessacary? Or should I just fab up my own type of foam barrier to eliminate the rattling

no you really dont need those plastic things, im not even sure why they are there

you could just take them off if you wanted to, its only 2 12mm bolts

EDIT: actually, just remembered, those plastic things are there to hold the bumper up to the headlight, i think without them the bumper will sag a little bit right there

i lost mine.. the two plastic pieces you are talking about... i think they got misplaced when i changed the color of my car... i do believe they are their to support the headlight more than the bumper cover itself

True... my bumper cover does sag under the headlights

I think they are adjustable? My bumper doesnt seem to fit flush enuf under the headlight. Guess I'll just have put some padding in there
