i couldnt find a definite answer on the size of the MAM.
in fact, i feel like they might have offered both 2.5 and 3.

is there any rust near the flex sections, or anywhere other than the hangers for that matter?

this is definitely 2.5" then.

There isn't any significant rust I'd be concerned about, but you'd probably have to torch the bolt in the o2 bung if you wanted to remove it. The midpipe was probably installed for about 20k miles, and I keep my car garaged.

The mam I put in looked (in outward appearances anyway) nearly identical to that, it is 2.5"ID, looks like mine had an 02 Bung added by the previous owner. seems the bung that was added on mine was the one I'm NOT using, so it should take the 2nd O2 without a harness extention. (this is on an MSP, but I'd imagine its the same on a non-speed.) fitment is good, I do have a bit of a leak at the rear flange, but I'm betting a gasket (I cheaped out as it was a sunday install) will resolve that.

right, but I believe the 2nd 02 is in the same location (and is the same part) regardless of speed/nonspeed... the nonfouler fix has nothing to do with needing to extend the harness or not.

I thought the msp's had the 02 on the midpipe. A nonspeed doesn't have any sensors on the midpipe.

bah... you're right... their 2nd is on the J pipe, and I have no idea how its wired. I stand corrected.
