What have you done to your MSP today?

^^Still haven't gotten a definite yes on that question, so I thought I would throw it back on top. Any ideas?

Also, I finally decided to purchase the MB weapons last night. I decided not to get the basic lugs that were packaged with them for $45 because I wasn't sure if that was a rip off and if they were any good. So could somebody point me in the direction for a decent set? And what about locking lug nuts? I guess there is no such thing for aftermarket wheels?

edit: For the lugs, I am not looking for crazy colors please, only simple colors like black/silver

The specs of the weapons are: 17X7 5-114.3 +43 (Gun metal)

I plan to run the stock tire size on these bad boys (assuming they fit?) 215/45/17

On the grommets... yes, they should work perfectly.
On the wheels and tires... the rim is the same size as MSP stock, except for the offset. So yes, the stock tire size will fit the wheel fine, and the 12mm change in offset will move your wheels out almost exactly 1/2" compared to stock. It should work great. I have 17 x 7 x 45 offset enkeis with stock size tires. My car is only dropped about 3/4 to 7/8" from stock, but I have no clearance issues at all.

enjoyed the lack of CEL from my EGR clean/seafoam, and found out my WGA is shipped so when that gets here (this weekend?) I may get the boost back under control and go catless... WOOT!

i LOVE the change that switching to black lugs made... wouldn't think something so small would make such a difference... but i really like it.

Well I'm still on stock suspension so I should have no problem with clearance then either. I was fairly confident that I wouldn't but since wheels and tires are a decent amount of money I wanted to be sure everything was kosher. Thank you.

as for lugs... badbadar has these on his bronze weapons and they look absolutely great!

i have these on my RH/MX-5s. simple black, comes with locks if you want them. obviously they are cheap, but they have held up very well for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, and a few days ago I was showing the weapons to my dad and we came across a photo of your car. He and I both agreed the MX-5 wheels look sweet as s***. He thought they would look good on my car as well, but I don't think it would look as good on laser blue.

thanks, man! i've been very happy with the MX-5s. here's a little side by side, chrome lugs vs black lugs. subtle but definitely makes a difference.

Well with your wheels, I think both sets of lugs complement them nicely. But since I chose a darker wheel, I think black lugs would look best. As far as the lug size, I'm looking at the one's you linked on evasive motorsports...would I need 1.5mm or 1.25mm?

You will have a chance to find out how they look on Laser Blue, sooner or later. My dad bought me a set of the MX5 rims for Christmas. Three of them are perfect; one has some rash. I want to fix it before I mount the tires. I'm prolly gonna make them my winter wheel set, and put my summer tires on the Enkeis. When I get the Miata wheels on the car I'll put up some pics.

haha nice! personally I'm not interested in bigger wheels for this car because I wish to stay away from clearance issues...but I am really curious to see how they look.

hehe.... i think it's just the narrow spokes that run all the way to the edge of the rim that give them that look. the spokes on the weapons curl in before they meet the edge of the rim and make them look smaller to me! just optical illusions...

got 1/4"(6.36mm) spacers. just enough to clear the calipers and in effect makes the wheels +49 offset. i wouldn't go much thicker on the spacers without extended studs. and, yeah, i actually have another set of spacers on the way for the rears although they fit fine without them.

hmmmmm so I need to change the oil this weekend....I'm thinking of running 5w30 for winter since its been a bit colder here and the Speed sits outside now...I've run 10w30 from day one but changing shouldnt hurt a thing

I'm never running 5W30 again. I switched to it for winter again this year and now I've got some smoking when I get on it... next change will be back to 10W30, possibly 10W40 for summer. course I'm also knocking on the 95K mile mark on the stock turbo... so its not like that has anything to do with it. lol
