PG vs Cobb Turbo Inlet

I have the SU one. It sounds amazing and fits perfectly. My only complaint is it has no hangar and that caused some vibes in my car. Very noticeable ones.

To the OP. I don't know if this really makes a difference, but when putting my COBB on recently, it sure was nice to be able to bend it a bit at the end in order to get the SRI on it. Nothing really important though.

Well I already have an MSCBE, that's why I was asking. I don't want to make the car any louder though. It's tolerable the way it is now (great tone, zero drone).

The older CS pipes fit poorly, and it was louder than it should have been. After driving for a few days I looked back under the car and you could see were the exhaust was exiting the leak. The CS had solid flanges and would not line up properly with the stock cat back, where as the SU pipe has a loose rear flange that adjusts accordingly. Great fitment. CS has since re-designed their pipe.

Oooooh--I thought you meant your TIP was leaking! I guess you'd really have a problem if you had exhaust leaking from your TIP! (stash)

I think I may need to go with the Cobb, as I have severe arthritis and would probably have difficulty pulling this way and that trying to get some of the solid TIPs on.
 
i've had the cobb intake for over a year now, and just recently purchased/installed the TIP....it made a slight difference in sound. the bpv is a little quieter now and the sucking noise is a little louder...throttle response feels better and it seems boost kicks in sooner....i will eventually invest in a DH or AP.....

i will also say that i had a tough time with the clamp at the turbo...my fat hands had a hard time gettin leverage and s***....so far everything still seems to be on tight.....

I also had the same problem with the PG inlet. There is a !$@#$@! hose right under the inlet that goes into the firewall that pretty much makes this install 10x worse than it should be and i simply couldn't get that hose outta there.

So i installed the silicone first into the turbo and then moved the inlet back and forth to get it in there. A pain in the ass and the silicone is a little rugged but i think it's tight in there.
 
When my PG Inlet was in, that large hose that connects to the firewall was rubbing against the inlet and left some burn marks on the metal.
 
Great so far, no problems. Just having a problem with high LTFT's and trying to find what the problem is. Maybe the purge valve or a leak, gotta find it.
 
I was having a problem with high LTFT's for a while too. Decided to clean my MSCAI filter, tighten down my hot and cold boost tubes (they actually turned quite a few cranks..I was surprised). That has brought my LTFT's into the negatives, for the first time ever.
 
I got a brand-new Amsoil filter for mine so that's no problem...

Where are those tubes located? One i'm assuming is the one that goes from the IC to the Turbo? What about the other one?
 
The hot tube is connected from the turbo to the IC, near the back. The clamp may be hard to reach (my clamp's bolt was facing the firewall, made it difficult).

The cold tube is right infront, connecting to the throttle body. You'll see it just underneath the BPV.

JK, LTFT= Long Term Fuel Trims, lets you know what the car is doing with fuel. Whether it's adding or pulling fuel during idle, cruise, and WOT. Anything above +/- 10 is a bad thing. For example:

Idle: -0.8 (pulling fuel)
Cruise: +1.3 (adding fuel)
WOT: +0.8 (adding fuel)

And WOT means wide open throttle..

This thread unexpectedly reminded me that I need to look at my LTFTs...I just got a DH and I keep throwing some +15s. I don't currently have a computer that is compatible with the DH, so I haven't been able to look at any logs, just screen data. I will try the above recommended cleaning/tightening and see how that works.
