What Have You Done To Your House Today?

I can't believe they had carpet in the kitchen. And shag carpet. Must have been old people.

Everything but a few kitchen items, clothes, washer/dryer, tv & xbox360 have been moved to storage.
My move out inspection date is 30Dec, so I'll have to do a steam cleaning of the carpet and wipe down the walls (magic eraser ftw!).
I got my fly out date...so I'm to leave muy pronto.

The house I'm in now had carpet in the bathrooms and kitchen. How people lived with that is beyond me.

The past two weekends I've spent cutting replacement drop ceiling tiles for the basement. About two dozen have gotten damaged from pool cues, water, and greasy hands, so it was time to fix them. Of course there were only 2 or 3 that were full sized tiles, the rest all needed to be re-cut to size.

Yeah it was an old lady that lived there and then the place was vacant for almost a year.

I wish I had drop ceiling tiles. I have permanent ceiling in my basement which makes it an absolute pain to run any cables/wires.

Yikes! That looks like a ton of fun to mess around with. You've done a lot of good work in that house so far.

bought 2 blinds. yes two. What asshole thought that is cool to charge that ******* much for blinds?

I thought they where like 40 bucks or something like that. I guess I got to stop shopping at menards.

they where 70% off at j.c. penneys, but what the hell man its just fabric and some cords.

did you buy real wood ones? The $40 ones are the faux wood ones at Lowes or Home depot....much better price on those...

I'll be posting a lot in this thread this summer.. We're going to be repainting the exterior, and ripping apart our finished basement.

No more nasty carpet in the basement. We're tiling and painting the walls. I'm also going to run conduits under the floor for the wires.

Well I picked up a few new things this weekend after moving into the house. Heres a few pics.

New lights/speaker stands (needed speaker stands for behind the couch for the rears and I only have 1 set of stands. It was either buy these lights or get some new stands so I'm trying out this solution.)

Also picked up a new dining room table.

After moving in everything through the front door we found out that the couch was too large to fit through the front door. We had to end up taking out the dining room window in order to get the couch in the house lol. Pretty sweet how these vinyl windows pop in and out with ease.

Also, I know there is some mess in the pictures but I am trying to get everything the way I want it right now and then I'll tidy it up (ie hide the blankets, pick up the boxes and better cable management behind the TV. The TV also needs to be moved to the right to get it more in the center of the wall.

We installed a closet system in the master yesterday. Gotta get all our stuff put away and then we'll take pics and post them up.

Not sure if hubby posted pics of the house yet but here are a few from the other day. :)

You probably got the high end s***. SHould have gone to walmart or something.

yup, top end. its double cell construction rated at R5. light filtering for the master bath and regular for the "blue" bedroom. both open from the top or bottom. Still..... there should be a warning by the displays "WAY TOO MUCH MONEY" or some s***. I mean how else can you take 70% off. When we first moved in we looked at the lowes/HD stuff and none of them came close to fitting right or looking good. It was all ghetto looking from the 80s.

They did a nice job on your windows though. I would have spent less on curtains and blinds.

We have something similar...although ours was just over $700 for the table and of course the chairs came seperately...and the damn thing weighs about 400lbs...******* marble is ridiculous though.
We have 6 chairs total (2 of which our kitties have made their marks on).

haha, thats awesome! I like that color too! mine weighs about that as well. I picked mine up on clearance for just under $500 with the 4 chairs.

Painted Master Bathroom

Before: White everywhere, trim needed paint badly as well.
