Shock not covered by warranty?

I have my car at mazda right now getting both the rear shocks replaced and they are also replacing the gear oil as the car was sapposed to be switched to 75w90 at the initial service date. My car has 29k on it and they are covering even the gear oil (cool). Try to talk with them on the shocks because there is a TSB out here for the leaking shock. How many miles do you have on the car? If you are out of the 3/36 might not be as easy.

who told you this?/where does it say that?

The service manager said due to my region here in michigan and every cold climate state they should have changed over. Because it takes so long for the oil to warm up that you can have trouble shifting into 2nd gear which is what I was having and I just bought the car and took it to the original dealer and they said that the original gear oil wasnt changed to the 75w90 Mazda recommends for cold climate cars. This could lead to bad 2nd gear syncros.

Mine had 37,xxx miles so no warranty help on the shock. Sesi Mazda in ypsilanti MI is a joke. I will never be going back there if I can help it.

Don't get 75w90 gear oil. It will eat up your synchros... get redline MT90.
