DDM Tuning Apexcone Raptor HID Kit - $30 plus shipping

I have no idea what I'm talking about.

In order to put HID's into the stock housing, you have to retro fit it, right?

The correct way to install HID's is to buy the correct housing for HID's, this doesn't need to be retro fitted, right? you just pop it in?

If you look at a newer mazda's headlights, their are circles, 4 I think. what exactly makes the circles? is it the bulbs, or the housing?

those "circles" are projectors, they aim the light alot better then regualr housings, and no you cant just buy one for the protege headlights
you have to do whats called a retrofit, which involves fitting a projector from another car into our headlights, hence the word "retrofit"

if u just get an HID kit u should be fine, retrofits are very rare around here, and they are costly

Just returned my bad DDM HID bulbs today! Man, can't wait to get these dang things in my freaken MP3!!!!!!!!!!!!

My GF told me she is getting me the accessories needed for my retrofit for Christmas. She is getting me the projector shrouds, bulbs, and D2S wiring adapters so I can use my existing DDM Tuning kit with it. All I have to do now is buy my E55 projectors and I'll be all set to do my retrofit.

i got some help with mine getting them in and went without a hitch!

tho i still have to figure out what's wrong with my original headlight wiring harness b/c the HID's are stuck on high beam, and believe you me, that combination people don't like...yikes

i found a wiring diagram, i just need to figure it out!

Can't you just get some used ms3 headlights, and take the insides out and put them in ours? some heat resistant fiberglass to keep it put? Or what would you use?

cutting and drilling? explain

From my original post:

Well, I put my HID fogs in last nite. To do it you, you WILL need to modify some things.

First, I drilled the hole that is in the light house already bigger to 7/8" for the rubber grommet that come with the new lights (and sealed with goop). I also cut the old wires running into the fog light because the grounding clip needs to stay inside to hold down the bulb.

I also cut the spade terminals off of the HIDS and spliced them with the stock fog light harness. When doing so, the wires need to be connected back asswards... red with black and black with red, dumb I know.

ALSO, because the new bulb is bigger, the lens will NOT screw completely back onto the housing. I went enough so that the screws were in about 3 threads on both sides, then sealed them with some goop.

I wish I would have taken pictures of everything, but I didn't, just wanted to get them on. The 3000k looks great for the fogs, and they don't over power my 5000k low beams. Ill post pictures up later tonght of night shots.
