Ebay Turbo Kit

i would stay away from that. turbo most likely has plastic internals and its all ebay knock of stuff.

Thanks for the quick response and keep em comin. I wasn't planning on buying it...just curious to see if anyone has. If they liked it and whatever. How much PSI did they put through it before it probably took a dump...ya know

Yeah and it could be super hard to find a proper turbo manifold. And at the same time you have to find something for engine management. I mean on an older crap car you would be good to go. But I would say just wait till the F2 SC comes out, looking at a release of Jan 2010

i'm not planning on purchasing one right now. My car is only like 10 months old. Just curious about it. Can anyone chime in if they indeed tried it?

The turbo sits on the turbo manifold. The turbo manifold has a flange for the turbo to connect to. A header doesn't have that. There are such thing as inline turbo setups, like STS does. A turbo setup is one of those things, if you have to ask you are probably not ready to have one installed.

Which is why i'm not ready to have one installed. If I ever DO in the furture, I would be installed it on my own (with the help of my pop). I know it's a big project but it would be fun. I'm no where near being ready for one yet

can someone throw up a pic of a turbo manifold on a 3 so I can compare the difference of it vs stock

besides the turbo and the plastic looking wastegate, it looks like it could be OK, there is a video of a guy on youtube with a protege, he has a custom t3/t4 setup, (which is the same size turbo as in the link) and he got the turbo from ebay,
he was blowing so much smoke out of the exhaust it was crazy, the seals in the turbo were just leaking a s*** ton of oil, so if u got a new turbo from ATP or somewhere reputable then that kit would be alot better

and i dont even think anyone makes a turbo manifold for the 3's yet...they just came out dude u have to wait a while before someone makes s*** lol

I mean one on 1st gen 3's. There are certainly people who have boosted their 3's and puttin out better #'s than speed3's

oh, ok...well ive only seen one guy who had a reg 3 and his car was FAST
he had the HiBoost kit and was making like 400whp or something crazy like that

and protege garage.com is your friend when u want to find stuff for your car or the older 3's

yea, protegegarage only have a few things yet. I'm sure they'll have more things available soon enough. I'm sure I seen a build thread before for a 3 that was pushing 500hp

not a header man! a turbo manifold. there is a big defference between the two! sounds to me like ur new to turbo cars. i would stick to mild bolt ons like intake and exhaust for now. stay away from major bolt ons until u have a way to minitor or tune ur car!

like i said in previous posts, i'm not looking to do this right now. Clearly I have ALOT to learn. My car is a 2010, so for warranty purposes it's only has mild bolt-ons.

LOL, looks like a header to me, but obviously had differences since it's not called a header

i wasnt bashing u man, just lookin out for u. wen i first got my protege i cranked to boost up to 12 psi with not near enough supporting mods, that lasted for 3 day before my motor popped. im just makin sure u dont make the same mistake, stick around here ull learn alot.
