Tired of blown engines/turbos? How about a CAL?

The point that kills me though is the oil change verification. Granted, I understand it's a means to cover their ass, but making owners, specifically enthusiast owners feel like ignorant people is a real easy way to piss them off. Personally, I won't pay them to touch my car, since I've seen some of the half-assed things that have been done by local dealers. The one dealer I'd even consider having touch my car is almost an hour away.

I think the point of all this is information. As a whole community, regardless of forums, we need to make sure that the situation is alleviated and our cars are built with the proper setups from here on out. If it's a TSB that takes care of it and people are properly warrantied, so be it. I hate to sound selfish, but as long as my car is running and I'm not forking out a ton of cash, I'm happy.

For those of you with blown motors, I sincerely pray you were wise enough to pull parts off the car before taking it in. At least the really questionable ones that are big no-no's from a dealer's eyes.

Here is the problem. Everyone with a car now a days and the internet has all of a sudden turned into top class mechanics and tuners. Everyone seems to have the answer, and when one hint of something bad about a car comes up, it just spreads. Jesus, its just as bad on the rx7 forums these days, as it is here.

It seems that the verification of oil changes is done arbitrarily (and unfairly).

It would make sense if the engine damage was related to the failure of a bearing, scored cylinder, etc. However, if an engine is clean (internally) and has no signs of oil starvation, how can they claim that the failure is oil related? (rhetorical question)
