Yup, Protege5 16'' wheels wrapped with General Tire Altimax 205-55-16. This is the same size than my OEM set up in 16''. Fitting a 205 on a Protege wheel is OK but I wouldn't go wider. I bought those wheels for cheap and the paint was damaged so I gave them a second life.

As per the tires, I was expecting a little more control on ice but on snow, they work great. Of course, it's not Toyo GO2 or Brigstone Blizzard but they are a good quality/price. In never got stuck with the 5.

Actually...funny you say that...my other 2 cars before this one were hit on that side of the street....but they werent drunk drivers..they were just idiot drivers...My Saturn was hit by a M3 doing a burnout at the stop sign and lost control and did a 180 into my driver side of the car and My Rodeo....A big A$$ Dodge 15 passenger van was flying up the street and a small car ate the stop sign and clip the rear of the van and it lost control and plowed into my neighbors Mazda Tribute and hit my rear end...I'll post a pic of the accident. So that is always a fear of mine.

I have other angles of the accident where it shows the damage to my rear...but its an ISUZU...who cares...Poor Tribute!lol

just stumbled on this post; I live in Easton, work in Breinigsville, been to Reading a few times. had cars hit in front of my house a few times as well (neighborhood like yours). Saturn L200 had the front end ripped off, and just recently lost my '96 MPV (the other dudes ins co totaled it, gave me a check for $2300).
anyway, your 5 looks great. if all goes well, we may be owning a '09 sport manual 5 this week.

Looks cool, if it were me.... I'd blacken out that bright shinny Mazda M emblem on the back, use smoke / tint paint or just some black paint. (wink)

I'm actually going to spray the truck satin as well. I think it needs it. In the process, I'm going to remove the emblems, fill the holes and depressions for a bare badgeless stealthy mini-minivan.

Damn those blackouted headlights really change the appearance of the front end. Anyone done this on a lighter colored 5....like say a white one(thumb)
