FD Rims on P5

someone did do this for an autoX setup. I believe the consensus that a small spacer up front and heavy rear fender rolling was required. maybe spacer in back too, I didn't pay much attention... SORRY! lol

And that was only the rear right? No modifications to the front?

spacer in front as well I believe.

and here's MspeedP5's

3mm & 5mm spacer with 215 50 16 tires...or 225......wheels is 16x8....roll rear fender...sean22306 told me this. he has them on his MSP.

I believe thats what he said....Check how sweet his car looks with FD wheels . Spicy orange MSP in the MOTM page.

i can't wait to put em on my car in spring... on the sedan I don't believe a rear fender roll is going to be necessary. I'm going down 7.5mm in offset, and adding 5mm of tire, and I think I had more than 15mm of clearance with the last setup. Wagon, I don't know for sure though.

You only need to run a spacer bc the center bore of the wheel is too small. Have them bored out some and you don't need a spacer (but then they don't sit as pretty lol) 3mm spacer makes the wheel sit flush. Without it due to the center bore the wheel will wobble. I ran a 5mm in the front bc I had it already, and aesthetics. I run a 215 to get a slight stretch to help with rubbing in the rear. Getting your fenders rolled would solve rubbing issues. I'm looking into running 225's or 245's this summer.

I disagree. I test fitted one of the non-reinforced on my rear, and it fit perfect.

I set it on the hub, with no tire... and it seated on the centerbore perfectly. in fact I have a pic of it seated with no lug nut holding it on.

the centerbore for the FD is listed as the same 67.1mm as most all recent mazdas...

Ok well I own 2 sets. I've had fd's on my past 3 cars. There are numerous posts/threads on here agreeing with me so take it however you want, I'm not gonna argue this. Look up xelderx's threads. Yours may already be machined out, I dunno. I do know what I've experienced with both sets I have. Hub bore is off, wheel wobbles some, run at least a 3mm spacer front/rear.

To the OP. Get some, try it and do it however works for you.

I'm not arguing, and have a set of 3mm spacers at the ready specifically because you said they were needed. when I test fitted it on the wheel I had to look twice because I believed you over what I was seeing. lol I won't have em mounted until spring, so that'll be the true test. The set I have came as a pair of reinforced, and a pair non-reinforced, from the second owner of a 93 FD, so i'm very curious as to their history..

yeah, I'm pretty excited for spring. lol really curious to see how different the car feels dropping almost 30 lbs of unsprung weight..
