Bought Ngk Platinum Gapping 4 2.0 N/A

I'm about to buy new plugs for my car and was wondering what others have. I put some Bosch platinum tipped plugs in there a few years ago and they are still in good shape but I want something better. They are gapped to about .47 right now and will probably set the new ones to about .45.

Why wouldn't you set the new ones to .44? (boom06)

OE specs are .44 so why would you set them to any other specs assuming this is just for daily driving.?

if it's a platnum or irridum plug, you do not want to re-gap them. unless they are way out of wack, and if so do not use one of those cheep coin style gauges. they will destroy the platnum/irridum tip.

Slightly larger gap can mean more spark, 3/100th of an inch won't make any difference.
What brand should I get? Just stick with Bosch platinums?

ive always gotten the NGK Vpowers or the Iridiums.
those seem to work best for p5's as it was discussed in another thread.

ok not being a jerk but everyone knows NGK V spark plugs are the best, bosch sucks, NGK V are the best and a GREAT price, hell they come stock in Vipers, how much more perfect to you need?. .44 is the standard like i said. .44 no .45 unless you go to far lol.

As has been covered at least 3.5 (thousand) times in the history of this forum...Everything, yes everything besides good ole copper NGK BKRs or ZFRs are pure waste of money with nothing to gain in performance, mileage or longevity. Argue amongst thyselves & waste your money how you see fit & just completely disregard the previous 3500 threads about plugs. Nothing has changed.

Well if Dodge puts them in their POS cars, I MUST have some for my P5! (nailbyt)

I did use the search feature but thanks for the info.

My car had Bosch platinum plugs that weren't but a couple years old in it and I swapped in some NGK copper BKRs at the stock gap (.44) and my idle is dead on now. I never had a problem before but the idle would surge slightly and the tach would jump just a little bit and now it sits there and barely quivers at all.

.44 is a tad high...may want to try .044 n/a :)

I run .028 but that's a different story

I replaced mine last week and gaped them to .044. Was having some problems(prior to replacing plugs) and eventually needed the dealer to run a diagnostic. They changed the gaps to .040. Just throwing that out there.
