NEMOC Random BS Thread

yah, tirerack recently opened a distribution center in CT... just outside of hartford. if i didn't have to work, i could've gone there and picked up the tires for $20 worth of gas.

I hope that means shipping charges weren't as much. Closet one I knew of on the East Coast was DE....good to know they are in CT.

Thanks guys, just been relaxing, otherwise I would be heading out to grab some dinner and drinks tonight with you all..

i just read something interesting in autoblog.com

We've been hearing rumblings about a Mazda RX-7 revival for so long, we've almost gotten numb to the idea of a next-generation, rotary-powered coupe. But Mazda's new design chief, Ikua Maeda, has given us a desperately needed hope injection when he told Autocar that initial sketches have been completed and he's campaigning Mazda execs to bring the new sports car to market.

The reborn RX-7 will likely be powered by Mazda's next generation Renesis 16X rotary engine, most recently seen in the Mazda Taiki concept, displacing 1.6-liters and making use of a longer stroke, direct injection and aluminum side housings. Outputs haven't been disclosed, but it's safe to assume the new mill will put out around 250 to 300 horsepower and a sizeable increase in torque, while boosting fuel economy and reducing emissions (and hopefully burning less oil in the process).

Maeda says the new RX-7 will move further upmarket than its predecessors, with a focus on higher interior quality going forward. Fine by us, but we hope a hardcore, track-focused version is in the cards as well. And if Maeda is to be believed, we could see the fruits of his labors in concept form as early as next year.

Is 250-300 hp really competitive in the current market? That is only V6 territory these days. Unless they find a way to strap a turbo to it for a sport model, why bother?

I have really bad news...

a customer took off with my Zoom-Zoom pen today at work :'(

must...get...another...

so from concept to actual sales of the car, we could be looking at another rx-7 in 2012-2013. thats cool.

yes but i doubt mazda will produce it. the only for them do make it happen they would have to drop either the miata or the rx-8.

i think they are just trying to see if its worth it. they'll probably make it if toyota comes up with a new supra or to try and compete with the 2010 lexus LF-A http://jalopnik.com/5386048/2010-lexus-lf+a/gallery/6

Nice dinner meet at Eaglebrook y'all!

Bruce, fun times comparing headlights on the highway! You a brave man to keep going past that cop on the side on the ramp to 128 north. Whoops :)

Awesome. I think you'll bounce back quickly. The most important thing is be sure to eat that soft freaking diet. Four days into it, scrambled eggs are good, but be real careful eating whatever you eating (don't chance nothing). Better spend an extra week on that soft diet than dislocate the clot and get a dry socket. Once you over that time limit, keep rinsing like the doctor says and keeping the sites clean and you'll soon forget all about it.

Ditto Mark! Was worth the long trip. Oh the irony of me ending up with a rotary plate. lol
