My buddy has offered me his winter tires off his Mazda 3 but they don't match my mazda 5.

Will 205/55/16 fit my Mazda which has 205/50/17 on it???

Where can you get a good deal on winter tires in the Toronto area?

Thanks

205/55R16 is what I have on my car for winter tires.
Since the rims are from an M3 they should fit your car.

I notice no mention of wheels in the post. If the winter tires do not come mounted on steel wheels, check online for listings. Others in this forum have posted that any wheel designed for a Mazda newer than 1996 will fit on the 5, so a set of 16" wheels for any Mazdea will fit. Aftermarket steel wheels are likely cheapest, from about $60, and alloys start at about $90. Used OEM wheels may be cheaper. Check with online auto wreckers.

Those tires will fit. I have the 2006 GS and the original tires are 205-55-16 and the GT model came 205-50-17. The diameter is the same for both tires and the 16" will clear the calipers.

205/55R16 is the standard size for the GS model. 205/60R16 (2.4% larger), 205/50R16 (~2.5% smaller) and 195/60R16 (roughly same diameter, rare) will also work.

He said it was a Mazda 3, which is 2004 and newer.

And I got my OEM steel wheels for $60 each. (rockon)
