I'm sure this has been answered.... But I can't find it. I'm looking to get some new tires for the P5 and I'm not sure what i should go with. Right now I am running MSP Racing Hart's with 215/45/17 tires, they rub pretty bad when I have passengers in the back and the fronts rub when turning sharp like a U-turn. I have progress springs on the car that lowered it somewhere between 1.5 and 2 inch. I can't really find an exact specification for those, but they tuck the tires so I think its closer to 2.

I'm pretty sure that 205/40/17's wont rub at all, But I was wondering if that tire is too narrow and I should run 215/40/17. I feel like the latter will rub though.

What are those of you with a good drop running on a 17 inch rim? Also does anyone have a picture of a P5 with 205/40/17 tires?

How is everyone with RH's and 215's rubbin?

Or how should I say was I NOT rubbing? I NEVER rubbed with that setup on Eibach/Tokico setup

i have 205/50's and they rubbed like crazy until i rolled the fenders all the way flat, but then again i have a lower offset/wider rim then the RH's but still
215/40 should be perfect size, i think 205/50 or 215/45 are way to big

yeah, lower offset will not rub on the perch, but will rub on the fender lip. my 40 offset wheels SUCKED (thats why they're gone)

I have Racing Harts with 215/40R17s. They are nearly equal in diameter to the stock 195/50R16s. Perfect size. No rubbing with Eibach Pro Kits.

205/40R17s are not tall enough, don't fill the wheel wells, and ride rougher.

thats a difference of .5 cm in profile height... aka, a difference of overall tire diameter of 1cm... HARDLY enough to visually notice a difference.

this is true, never noticed how rough it was until i got my new tires

night and day difference, but i raised my car up about an inch front and back to fit the tires
so maybe that has something to do with it too lol

LOL, maybe I have more sensitive eyes to that sort of thing. I have run both setups and I could definitely tell a difference.

ah thats where u are wrong, they look alot bigger actually
and its 5mm each way so they are 1cm bigger then the 205's height wise

idk it doesnt seem like much but i got 10mm bigger one way and it looks like a huge difference

thats exactly what I said... going from 215/45/R17 down to 195/55/R15 (snows) was enough to see a difference... but there you're talking down 2cm width AND 1cm overall height, with 2" of wheel gone.

I'm not rubbing at all on the struts or suspension, in the front it is the lip of the fender, which has rubbed enough that it has pretty much rolled itself, this only rubs when I make a sharp turn anyway so it doesn't bother me that much. My main concern is when I have rear passengers and it rubs the rear fenderwell, mostly toward the front of the car. I think a lot of it has to do with me needing struts all the way around as well. I just dont want to buy $300 worth of tires and still have an issue. I included a picture of the car so everyone can see how low the car is and go from there. I would def prefer a 215/40/17 from an appearance and performance standpoint. Maybe I can find someone locally who has some I can try out.

They look good on!!

I am still stumped how I had NO rubbing with THOSE WHEELS/TIRES

Yea I really like them. I put them on to try to decide what tire I need and these are too big, not to mention one of the noisiest tires I have ever heard! I will prob ride on my stockers for a bit til I decide what size to go with.
