if only i lived locally!

ill have a video of my car sometime next week.. will post it up..depends if i can get to the track or not.

Ken,
The HP gains on your site for this manifold - are those on an otherwise stock car, and if not, what exactly are all the mods to it? Seems it would be important to clarify that with those figures if somebody was shopping on the site and wanted to know.

to furthur add to that... with supporting mods and a good tuning device ud get the most out of it and possibly see better numbers then posted on ken's website.. on a dyno..

Out of my price league, but while swapping this out would seem like the perfect time to replace the downpipe. I would be curious to see what the gains would be with these mods.

All tests would include some type of intake, as that is so much a given that it almost goes without saying.

1) Just the mani - already done.
2) Just a less restrictive intercooler - already done.
3) Mani and a less restrictive intercooler
4) Mani and downpipe.
5) Mani, downpipe, and a less restrictive intercooler.
6) Mani, downpipe, a less restrictive intercooler, and turbo inlet.

I`d like to know what combination of bolt-ons provides the best bang for the buck. It would be great if someone with a real bank account who was going to do some serious upgrades could dyno after each step.
It would also be sweet if stock tune and tuned could be compared at each combo.
Too much time, trouble, and money, so it`ll never happen, but it would be interesting to see.

i can tell you with number 6, we had a car pretty much that as bolt ons and no tune which was hitting a bit over 300whp and 320tq. intercooler used was a replacement top mount.

I almost posted the same questions earlier. It's like you read my mind or something.

So like what we need is a dedicated magazine called Mazda Speed Mods dedicated to all Mazdas and featuring dyno tests with part swaps, do it yourself tech, Mazda news, and of course the My Mazda feature at the very back with a reader ride. The first issues should be full tech info on the stock motors of the Mazdaspeed line starting with of course the Speed3 and then addressing the 6, the Protoges, and the Miata then moving on to the RX8 and other naturally aspirated models. All aspects of the EFI systems should be covered. There's at least two years worth of issues in that alone. Mix in the other stuff and add some chicks? Maybe not then. Just keep it clean and simple. Suspension and wheel tech would be great too.

YES take me back to the days of 5.slow and STuperfords only do it with Mazdas.

Because our cars have front wheel drive, all the tuner mags shun it. You don't see JACK about speed3s in any of them. It needs a dedicated publication.

Ken you can be a featured advertiser, part supplier for dyno tests, and reap the sales rewards afterwards.

Sound dope?
Werd.
