vibrant intake

I've been looking at either putting a drop in K&N filter in my Pro5 or getting an inexpensive intake. On NSN Motorsports website I notice the Vibrant intake but on the Vibrant website they don't mention our cars as ones they make intakes for. Has anyone purchased this intake? Fitment/mounting issues? Any other affordable options?

Never heard of a Vibrant intake for na proteges, doesn't mean there isn't one but the most popular intake is the Injen intake. Basically, an intake as an intake, not much difference between brands or even short rams to cold airs.

On the protege you don't get hardly any horsepower from the intake, it just makes the car louder.

There is an intake made by Vibrant for the Protege, it's less than $100 and is a SRI from the looks of it. Part number is 2226.

Vibrant discontinued their intakes. I do have one of these on my car, the fitment was fine, but I had to make my own bracket to hold the intake up. The hole drilled for the intake temp sensor is kind of a pain as it is right on a bend, the rubber sleeve sometimes pushes in when trying to put the sensor in. Overall its a descent intake for the money, eventually I will probably switch to an Injen intake, I just bought this one as it was the last one I had at work, it was cheap and my factory intake broke between the MAF and the throttle body. I think you can still find them on eBay though.
