msp head

if your looking to use a dizzy look to see if the plug where the dizzy goes is removable. That's what I'm trying to find out myself. its an upgrade for a probe. I have herd that it is a bolted in plug in the hole where the dizzy is supposed to go but I'm yet to confirm this. if it is a bolt in plug you should be able romove it and slide a dizzy in it so you would have to look for a probe head just find a dizzy that will fit. right?
you have to drill the hole out on the 98+ head to put in a disty... you'd know this if you searched and looked at tons of pics from people's engine builds
the only CHEAP solid lifter cam with the disty gear is the corksport exhaust cam
the stock solid lifter cams don't have a disty gear

you do not want to use the 93-97 cams because the ramp angles are designed for HLAs and won't work right with solid lifters... same reason the other way around also

what theMAN is trying to say:

bad idea. there is no benefit to a dizzy, you have to do a lot of BS to make it work and it severly limits the parts you can use. beyond all that, you can do anything you want to with the dizzy using the coil packs, and the coil packs do it better.

s***, I know what my next mod is going to be... put in a distributor and add a carburetor! I don't need no stinkin computer! we dumb hill billys in texas don't need no computer to tell our car how to run just like no government needs to tell us what we can and can't do! I can put my wrench and screw drivers on it to mess with it... that's what's real tuning is! yeehaw! we don't need no stupid computers!!

*spits out tobacco*

fine fine fine... ill give up on the dizzy idea... im bout to sell the car anyways adn say **** it... mazdas are great.. yeah yeah whatever... i think im just gonna get an sti or something that i can tune the **** out of and not have so many ignition and fuel issues... a damn ecu that learns to turn around a fuel tuner computer.. its lame

IMO i think you should do what you want. If you payed for YOUR car and you wanna put a dizzy on it then do it. I am not tryin to be a jerk but i mean if its what you wanna do do it. Ive noticed there are Cyber jerks in all these forums no matter what it is from the supra forums to the 240sx forums to the probe forums everyone has an opinion just get your info and do your thing.

you're right.... it's your car and your money and only your business to do whatever you want... but if you post asking for help and opinions, you're going to hear something you don't want to hear if it's stupid or not cost effective... plain and simple
