Post The Best Pictures of Your Mazda

LostSoul... not crazy about the clear tails but the rest looks nice IMO. The front could be a little ricey for most people's tastes but it's very well done. Side shot?

Also, your exhaust looks funny. Please tell me it doesn't light up.

no it was just the lighting thats normally black as hell lol and the tails i never liked either the stock ones were so foged my buddy just gave me his old ones for now

Both are crap pictures.

I will continue to say so until you take the time to blur your license plate with a bit more care. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but I can't understand why people would take all that time to prep their car, set up the shot, take the picture, process the picture, and then use MSPaint to scribble over their license plate. To me its pure laziness and shows no care in your work. If you have no care in your work, then I have no care to look at it...

/rant

lol So they'd be alright if I hadn't blurred the license plate? Really? Grow up.

I could care less whether you "care to look at it" or not. If a picture is ruined for you by a license plate, that's your own damn problem. This is not "work", it's being out for a day and having some beautiful weather and taking some pictures. These aren't being submitted for publication or professional review. Get a life.

If you drive your car frequently, I don't even see the point of hiding the plate anyways...

You hide it so shady people on the internetz can't find out where you live? Your location is posted so thieves already got it down to the city, all they'd have to do is spend sometime in the area, they'd probably spot you eventually then follow you and steal the car at the right moment and not only that, they're thieves EVERYWHERE including your area. I'd be more worried about protecting my car from people who actually see it everyday than people on their computers spread across the world. I mean, the car is nice, but not that nice where someone would fly out just to take it. Imo of course.

The pictures are not taken for the sole purpose of submitting them here, nor is this the only place they're posted.
In many states, a simple DMV search can lead to a treasure trove of personal information.
While yes, your tags are visible to anyone on the road, online car forums can make great shopping grounds for a potential thief. After all, that may look like a fairly normal car but when you read that guy's posts on the $20k stereo system in it, well, it makes it easier to find the cars with the good stuff.
For example, someone who may be in the business of selling turbo parts for small engines may trawl through Miata.net/Mazdas247.com looking for posts made by owner's of turbo'd Miatas. They can use the locations to find those who are local and then any tag numbers to find out where the turbo'd Miata lives. This way, they know they're getting a turbo'd car instead of an na Miata.
About a year ago, someone on Rennlist had his heavily mod'd 951 stolen by someone else on the forum who tracked him through his tags, so it does happen.

However, in this case, we have what APPEARS to be a stock MX-5 with wheels. I've seen MX-5's around here with wheels.

Really? Think that's stock ride height? :p
No, the car also has a full suspension setup, wheels/tires, and a number of interior/sound mods.

It has nothing to do with "what I think my car is worth". FWIW, when I first joined the site (long before most people here bitching it seems), my car was a Protege 5, and I got in the habit of blurring then too.
Breakin-ins and thefts, especially on SOFT TOP convertibles, are an issue in this city, and I'd rather not tempt fate.
Sorry that has offended so many. I'm starting to remember the reason I stopped visiting this forum.

Gordon don't let stupid s*** like that shy you away from the forum. Also, check out the OH subforum. We've been having a lot of get togethers lately and there's a lot of cool people around here. I'll PM you my cell number and maybe you can come out to one of our outings. Nice miata.

Holy crap Gordon,

You can either take the advice (I fully advertised that it was a personal rant - not an attack) and criticism, or you can ignore it. I like seeing a nice picture as much as the next guy, especially since photography is just a hobby for me, not a profession. If you're worried about your license plate being out there, as many of us are, then take the time to make it a part of your photo. I hide my license plate too, but I either use the clone tool in photoshop, or I take the most common background color using the dropper, and I paint over the numbers and letters. It remains part of the picture, but is much more pleasant to the viewer.

If you don't care, then that's your prerogative, but as part of your audience, I'm making a suggestion I've made several times before to make it better. Everyone else has been receptive and taken the advice as intended.

Here's what I am talking about, BTW:

Take the time to chill, and be a part of the community. I apologize if I came across as abrasive, but am trying to give sincere advice.

i've noticed a lot of people suggesting advice and what not.. to me it's annoying. this particualr thread is for just pictures of your car.. not "how can i improve my pictures of my car"

just keeep it on topic and post pictures of your car and not suggestions.. keep that in a thread where that's its intended purpose..

nothing against anyone but it's like every other picture someone's telling someone how to make their picture better or take the right picture.. i just like seeing them.

No, this thread is for the "BEST" pictures of your Mazda. If someone is posting in here, they obviously have an interest in both their car and photography, so why wouldn't you take the advice? Maybe I am skewed because I'm always trying to learn and trying to get better. I'm no professional by any means, nor do I really think my pictures are THAT good, but, in almost everything I do, I always listen to advice when given to me, whether I asked for it or not. You never know when it might come in handy and its always nice to get feedback.

well i dont have any interest in photography. and to me, "best" is what you feel is the best picture of your car. where your car looks the best. and in almost all of my photos, i never use pshop or any type of program.. the last set of mine, my buddy did. so they don't count.

but if you want this thread to be about the quality of the picture, have the mods change the title.

this thread is about what does the poster think is his best pic of his mazda.
not how can another user critique it to his liking. just because someone doesnt agree with your advice doesnt mean its wrong just opinions.
its the internet. fun world. lets keep it that way.

mazdas? yes please.

Listening to constructive advice is one thing. Calling pictures "crap" because you don't like the way a license plate was blurred (!!!) seems excessive and unhelpful, let alone a tad anal.
But to each their own.

What bumper is that on the G35? Nice

Really? Think that's stock ride height? :p

Thanks for quoting me!!! lol

I honestly haven't looked at the new MX-5's up close enough cause I hate the look of em (just to be honest). That's my opinion though. So yes, it looks like a stock ride height to me. Being that it's a sports car, that very well COULD be the stock height. With the pictures you posted, it sure looks pretty stock, which is how some guys want it.

As for the tags, I agree with covering them up on here. I don't always do it but then again my car is pretty stock. Either way, if s**** gonna happen, s***'s gonna happen.

Stay on Mazdas247 and don't let it get to so much. (fight)

All in good fun. Hell, call me a douchebag... I don't mind.

As for the whole "advice" issue. I can see both sides of the arguement. Here's how I see it.

If you post a pic and want advice, ask.
If you post a pic and don't want advice, be warned, you might get it. Just disregard it.
If you post a pic and will get pissed if someone critiques it. Get the f*ck off the internet. That's all it is.
