I have a 03 mp5, burned out front right low-beam. PIAA quotes 62.85 USD/pair + 22.00 USD to Canada. In store I would pay 98.00/pair CAD. Does anyone know any online sites to purchase singular bulbs with cheap shipping, or if possible FREE shipping? When I bought the mp5 the PIAA bulbs were already installed. Am I better off buying a new pair or switching to a new brand? -THX, mike

I would switch back to oem or go hid. The price of a Piaa bulb is as much as a hid kit. Check out ddm tuning. They have a kit for 39.95+ shipping.

That kit looks great, how easy are these to install? Will I need to purchase anything else to put in my mp5 or will the h7 kit they offer have everything included? would 6000k be a good choice or should i go higher? i apologize for all the questions but it makes it easier to relay the point. -THX, mike

id say go 5000k for better visibility, its what i have. and no the kit should have everything included and would be plug and play basically.

I have the 6k kit and like it. If you want visibility and not just a pretty color id say dont go any higher than 6k.

its funny how a lot of people really dont care about visibility when it comes to HIDs. they just put it on there to seem cool. it does bug me a lot especially when they have these pink or purple 10 and 13k HIDs aimed high at my mirror (rant)

such a distraction

i have 6K
but will be ordering a replacement from DDM Tuning (5K)
when my currents ones blow.

Please don't waste money on fancy pants halogen bulbs. Our cars eat em like a fat kid eats cake.

Just go HID and not have to worry about it.

6k is blue

5k is whiteish blue

4K is pure white-no yellow-no blue

4300K will net you the MOST POSSIBLE USEABLE LIGHT- which is why it's the OEM color temp in most stock HID vehichles

although, i just found out my boss's Lexus LS came stock with 8K's in his car. . . . . kinda stumped on that one, but, it works i guess

Damn, really, the chart made it seem like it was right on the edge of where they move from being completely white.

those charts are all FUBAR'd.

I've got 3000K in my foglights and they're yellow, i've also had both the 4000K kit from techone and the 4300K kit from Apexcone, both pure pure pure pure pure white

BUT, with the SUPER HIGH quality control *snicker snicker* over where they're built, no two sets are equal. The Techone kit which SHOULD be 4000K, the driver's side has turned more 5k with a hint of blue now with the passenger staying pure white

actually, here's one that is the closest to accurate i've found

According to that one I should be OK. 6k looks to just be off pure white with hint of bluishness. I just don't want totally blue like 8k or higher. I'll just stay with these & see how it goes. If they're too blue then I'll wait & bump up to 5k lifetime warranty ones.

well that chart is a little off towards the top, my friend got 12000k in his car and it was purple lol so either he got some weird s*** or it starts to turn magenta towards the top
ive seen other charts that do the same

yeah, up top is off, but, down low it's pretty good

Don't go over 6k and you should be ok. Just rule of thumb
