What color should I paint my valve cover?

So... I have a valve cover that's been powdercoated and I'm not too attached to the color.

I'm thinking of getting some automotive paint and going to town on it.

I need some suggestions for what would go well with it.

As it stands right now, obviously, the car is red... so I'm considering just using the body color paint... but I'm entertaining some other ideas.

Post ideas. No matter how outlandish. I'm all ears.

Pink to show of your sensitive side?

But red or black would go with your color scheme you have now

Where'd you get it powdercoated at? What color is it now?

What color "theme" is your engine bay?

On the MR2, i did red and sanded off the TOYOTA on the valve cover in silver, I was going with a red and silver/chrome theme (and some gloss black powdercoated pieces eventually)

Well, I've kinda got a black and red thing going on the exterior.

The engine bay will look something similar to this:

You will not see the filter, and the intake pipe is painted a flat black.

I'm thinking of just doing the intercooler pipes in flat black with red couplers and doing the valve cover in the body red... but I'm curious as to suggestions.

I think Bryan has some paint left over from his wheels. Maybe he can give you the rest?

I'm not gonna lie, if I had virtually any color other than red I would do a purple/chameleon kinda thing.

Orange wouldn't work right with the red either.

I want it to stand out... but it's still gotta look somewhat... uniform.

Ummm. I say black for sure and then see if you can stencil MAZDA or MAZDASPEED or 2.3 DISI TURBO on the top left of it in red. That would look really nice.

I just started doing a little painting of my own under the hood... I'll post pics when I'm done (prolly tommorow night).

Actually, I decided to let the primer dry up a bit and paint tonight instead of waiting for tommorow... So now I'm burning the midnight oil on the back patio with my paint.
