Time for a new windshield...

When I went out to the car this morning I saw a huge crack from the bottom all the way up about the tint line. I followed it the center lower portion where you can tell something hit it and it spiraled up to the big crack.

New windshield w/rain sensor....290+ local taxes. all in all not too bad. I will have it done Tuesday evening.

The crappy part is that I now have to put my new fork for my mtb on hold...errrg.

damn that sucks. Here in FL, its fully covered by insurance no matter what. When they replaced mine they put a different window trim in as well. Good luck

really? I was thinking about calling insurance but figured whats the point. I have a $250 deductible so I figured at $300 it wasnt really worth making a claim.

Did you have to pay the deductible? I will call tomorrow just to ask, it can't hurt.

depends on your policy. mine has deductible-free windshield replacement. check up on the details of yours and you might get away without paying anything.

Yup - FL is good about the windshield stuff. Had one replaced on my Subie a few years back. Had a mobile place do it while I was at work. Very fast and it was quality work. I believe the only requirement is that you have comprehensive coverage?

well if I am ever making a pros and cons list on Florida, this will definitely go in the pros section. lol

My agent is calling me back sometime today but I think I should be good. If not, it's only $300 but, I would like my new forks...

well apparently I DID have glass coverage and my deductible is only $100. Nothing like saving a couple hundred bucks.

New forks are a go again...or should I by the woman a bike..hmmmmmmmmmm

Ahhh...an extra $200 goes a long way these days. Glad to hear the good fortune.

This reminds me... I have a small, dime-sized crack from what appeared to be a b.b. that fell from the sky & smacked right in my line of sight a few weeks back. I really need to call & get that sucker fixed before it spreads & becomes a full windshield replacement.

And being in FL, yeah, it's 100% covered under insurance. State law.

Cool.. fellow MS3'er MTB'er... What ya riding? Also getting the woman a bike can be a good thing, its always good to kill 2 birds with one stone... or 3 or 4.
