debating a few visual mods

I would like my gray ms3 to have a unique look,, with that in mind.

tint - is it really necessary? yes it looks awesome, but also, for some reason I think the car looks really good with no tint as well.

mud flaps - I don't see these around too much except on wrx's so I'm thinking these might be my next purchase.

sticker - +20hp with an injen sticker. kidding... I would like to add an Injen emblem though without looking like a fool,,, I suppose it depends where it is positioned.

that's all I can think of this morning, anyone else have unique visual mod suggestions?

thx

Depends on where you live. I live in florida so tint is almost mandatory espcially in a black on black car.

As for the sticker thing . . . Its up to you man. I see people with injen stickers all the time and I know the only thing they have in their car is an intake. The way I see it is that I don't want to give these companies free advertising after paying 300 bucks for an overpriced tube. If they give me something then I will be glad to put a sticker on my car.

A cool visual mod that I like is blacked out lights / emblems and a new front grille without the flying M. Such as the one autoexe makes or the ebay one. Or springs always look great.

Tint is more about comfort than looks to me.

Absolutely. Especially when you live in hot climates. In vegas, it was mandatory. Here is Chicago...ehhh, not really mandatory but still nice to have.

As for the blacked out look. Negative for me. I actually like the ugly chrome better than the blacked out thing.

I think every car looks better with tints, so looks and function makes it worth while in my book.

mudflaps i cant get past the looks but after winter my car does have a few new chips down the side of my car that may have been prevented with mud flaps.

stickers can be done tastefully but its usually just personal preference and usually seen as rice. that said I've got "mazdaspeed" over my headlight and my tail of the dragon sticker at the top of my back window.

a free visual "mod" you could remove your door moldings if you havent done so already. thats been debated almost as much as sri vs cai though...

word, thx for the ideas.

I'm in MA, so its not extremely hot year-round, but summer days like today I could certainly use the tint. :[] Maybe I will look into radiant tint, I don't know if you guys are familiar with it, but it fades from silver to black. It is a fine line between being too flashy and having a nice unique look though.

Do you also happen to know if stickers are really just that? wouldn't they peel off after the first winter storm? or rather are they some hi-quality acrylic material type of deal.

I have seen it and it is ugly....

stickers last a bit longer now a days with modern materials

+1 on the mud flaps. i love mine. i also put tints on mine and it makes the car look that much better in my opinion. that and not having the sun blaring in is also a nice feeling. you can always take the rear wiper off along with the side moldings for a "cleaner" look. you can also go with some hood stripes to or eye lids even.

I am still soooo torn on the mudflap thing.

DO IT! I COMMAND YOU! idk, people think the car looks funny with them on. i, frankly, don't give a crap. the amount of stuff that gets on the car after it rains/snows, especially the back end, is greatly reduced.

speaking of hope depot you can do the home depot front lip, should also save your front end from some scraping.

i'm doing that this sunday. should be fun! here is a nice write up:

I'm thinking about doing the HD Lip also. Tint was done ASAP on my car, there was no question of that for me.

I say... paint the emblems, eyelids, tints.

If I had a metro grey I'd paint the emblems the color of our stock wheels, a cool, less glossy silver. Then run with that theme.

Might as well add a ghetto looking billet grill and some of those super awesome stick-on fender vents and hood scoops you can find at AutoZone while you're at.
