is it just me or major design flaw?

I'm just comparing seating position to RSX. In RSX I was sitting lower and pedals were little bit far so I could be close enough to the steering wheel and perfectly manage pedals and shifter. My legs stretched more so no issues with console whatsoever.

Here in MS3 though seating position is much more higher causing inner angle to be less so you leg and knee raise more. Again I understand that it was designed for ppl with other complexion and possibly different more conservative seating position but hey this is what 'design' means and stands for.

And I'm not complaining too much. Just decided to share and see if anybody else experiencing the same.

This reminds me how your stomach would hurt driving G35 with OEM seat belt holder. First I thought it is just me. Then so many ppl reported the same. Fix was easy though - just replace driver side holder with shorter one from passenger side. I would never expect things like that to be happening but these are facts.

Actually, this has been an issue since the new 3 hit the US in 04/05 production year. I had a 2.3L sedan and had the same problem at first. I remember looking into it and finding a gel pad with an adhesive back that was made specifically for that. I will look and see if I can find it again. I have since learned to adjust the seat so that when my leg does rest there it doesnt bother me.

I had a similar issue (6'4"). I glued a gel-type mouse pad on the side of the console. Fixed it right up. Similar issue in my 300C -- a kid's black flip-flop with gardening wire to hold it in a hook form draped over the front edge of the console fixed that one.

If your problem is height... just drop the chair down all the way. That's what I do and I'm only 5'10" I like sitting a little lower.

i recommend the gel pad also... i just need a thinner one...

i'm 6'4" and this cars fit of my frame was a major selling point for me... as i've said i have to move the seat forward about an inch or two.. i like the legroom it has, but it's not my tundra either, and i like it closer on the sides than most taller guys.

play with your height a bit as suggested, and get a pad to put on there, it should make it nice...

i'm still very happy with the comfort level of this car... much more so than a good many other cars i tested...

The combination of raising/lowering the seat along with adjusting the steering wheel (up,down/in,out) should definitely (at the least) replicate the position you were used to in your RSX

As an aside... In coming from an MSP (which had a fixed seating position and was a bit lower to begin with) it felt like I was driving a truck. Granted, I had the seat jacked pretty high... and while that seating position seemed (and proved to be) ideal for me... it created the perception that the car wasn't that great a handler. For a week or so... I drove around with the seat on the 3rd lowest setting. With the steering wheel properly adjusted, it was essentially the same view I had before. The car definitely FELT like it handled better... but I felt like I was Tattoo from Fantasy Island. So I went back to driving the truck. I just thought it was interesting how the seat height affected the handling perception.

no way! this is what I was thinking about.. I was looking for my old mouse pad yestrd lol I need to see pics pls

If I had it to do over, I'd turn it 180. I was trying to follow the console curve.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'm 6'1 and I got this a lot at first, but now I drive with my right knee never touching the console. Used to be bad when I hit cruise control and rested leg against console, but now I cross my feet to keep knee off the plastic.

Gel pad is a gooooood idea.

your time to react is an issue with crossed legs.

i think its the seating position. i dont think the seat is completely centered i noticed that i sit more on the right of the seat.
