final: 17x8 vs 17x9 and tire size?

well i'm pretty set on the tires. just need to figure out what wheels. haha.

tires are going to be 235/45/17 kumho ecsta xs. :)

if anybody has any info on whether or not there is enough clearance to shave the hub a couple mm, chime in.

yea, i knew they came in 235/45. i must've gotten confused. i've been looking at so many tire/wheel options lately. haha. they're 27lbs though!

Don't be so concerned with the tire weight. That's what the lighter wheel is for. They're "heavy" for a reason. You want a light tire, you might end up giving up a lot of performance in terms of control, feel, dynamics and stability.

does anybody in here have any idea why yoo shin's reply remains at the bottom of the page?

mr mazda, is this your car? I have to say this is my favorite on the forum. absolutetly beautiful?

Did you have to roll anything? What suspension are you running?

Again, great looking car.

Nope...not mine. I wish it was tho. I just found the pictures for reference to the 17x9's.

Tire rack. Search under 2008 RX-8 with auto tranny. They were 349 instead of 590 or something close. SSR lists the msrp as 660.

Gosh. The only thing I dislike about tirerack is that they add tax to all orders and not even be shipped in cali. All other sites = no tax FTW.

TireRack only charges YOU tax because you live in NV...

Any state where they have a distribution center has to pay taxes (just like with any other internet or mail-order business).

So, NV, GA, IN, and LA customers get charged sales tax. ;)
