Hey all, I have been trying endlessly to get my dashhawk to work in Vista with no success. Yes I have tried everything from the "Dashhawk Vista Users" thread in the MSD tech forums. Has anybody here gotten their dashhawk to work in 64-bit Vista?

I tried several different options and ended up doing a 32-bit XP boot in VMware for my DH and AP/ATR compatibility. 32 bit Vista requires a slight workaround, but 64 bit is a no-go.

Yeah that is what I have come to realize. How would I go about doing a "32-bit XP boot in VMware"?

You'll need to go to vmware.com and download their vmware player, then find a clean copy of XP that you can install. Once done, load the DH software to the blank OS, and you should be able to communicate between the DH and your computer.

You may want to read up concerning virtual OS's before trying this.

Such a pain in my ass just to view my damn datalogs. MSD FTL.

I have my vista 32bit computer for normal internet browsing but anytime i need to actually do something i fire up the old xp pro computer... vista ftl....

Rather than going through the trouble of rigging a virtual XP environ just to run Dashhawk, get yourself a cheap-o refurb netbook.

The up and coming Windows 7 has a built in 32 bit XP VM, which works perfectly with the DashHawk.

Once Win7 goes live, you can install the DH software within the VM and run it in seamless mode from within Win7. Sadly, Vista is crap and you won't ever get it working without some sort of VM.

Yes, that's the great part about Win7. It's going to really fix a lot of issues that Vista has.

I ended up partitioning my hard drive & installing Win7 Beta (and later RC) 32-bit on the new partition, partially to test Win7, and partially to get my PC to talk to my mother effing Dashhawk. Works like a charm. Dual boot FTW.
