just instaled H&R springs and MRR GT1's

Hey finally installed my H&R sport springs, and MRR GT1's(18x7.5,with 48 offset) wrapped in falken fk452's(225/40/18). looks nice and clean and couldn't be happier with the ride and stance of this car now. thought i would share those, now i must get out and drive. no rubbing in the rears yet.

yah and what horror stories are those? they ride deadly, super comfy and drop our cars better then any spring out there.i have no complaints

they destroy dampers eh, well i guess thats the price i have to pay for having my car look and handle perfect, sure i could have gone with eibach, cobb, or whatever , but you definately don't get the stance i have with them, and actually all lowering springs will put more pressure and wear the stock dampers out over time, so i have to buy a new set of dampers down the road, big deal, small price to pay as far as i'm concerned for the right ride and look i was after.

My only complaints about my H&R springs is that they are a little bouncy, other than that they're a quality product that give the car an aggressive stance and clean up the handling decently.

Interesting.
I have 225's on my 8" wide Volks and the tires look a lot more bulged out than your 245's do.
Based on that, I wouldn't think that I could do a 245 on 8", but obviously, your pictures show that it works just fine. (uhm)

For the most part my tires look flush, but if you look directly from the side you can see that there is a very minimal ammount of buldge. Dunlops site specifies 9.8" of contact patch on 245/40/18 Star Specs... and stock contact patch is 8.X"

245/40/18 tires are specified to fit 8-9.5" wheels though and look very at home on my wheels I think. If you're thinking about going wider I say go for it. (idhitit)

i had h&r springs before i went h&r coils...my personal experience i didn't like them...i didn't like the bounce feel they were giving the ride...at 70-80 mph on 101 hitting any dip on the road didn't feel safe...leaving the dip felt like you were being sling shot out...not at all like you were being sucked to the ground...
