What have you done to your MSP today?

Ya there on the hunt it seems...I got stopped Saturday afternoon for "loud exhaust". I must have a way with people...cause I admitted everything...explained that the car was my hobby and all mods are high quality done very well. It went from "license and registration please" to "show me under the hood I gotta see this!"

He warned me to be careful...if I fall on a cop who doesn't like my face...could have me get inspected for everything and be forced to return everything back to stock or deem it not road legal until I did. But above all, he said cops really hate loud exhaust.

Anyway, he let me off with a verbal warning and congratulated me on a nice car.

So much hat towards cops.... cant we all just get along?

lol 187 on a motha f***ing coP! <~~~wagon, this is a quote of a song's lyrics. Sublime, NWA, Cypress Hill, I beliive many have used it lol

My gf's dad is Assistant Chief of Police of a local department around here... :D:D:D
Several friends are cops as well.

Edit* I thought it was clear that this was a joke. If it wasn't, it should be now. THIS IS A JOKE!

yes it's homicide. "we got a 1-8-7 in glendale, cops are all over it!"... rofl.

anyways.. he also stated he has tons of cop friends etc... he's good.

I have nothing against cops as people...it seems to be the other way around...no love...

jay you are very lucky, I got profiled a few weeks back on an illegal exhaust. was idling at a light and a cop was in the green direction, saw the MSP and must have thought there is an easy 150$. he didn't even hear me at all....damn suburbs...

BTW, we need to get together at some point, its been a while

I also have nothing against cops... But then again, I sort of was one.... that being said, there were those shady actions by several of the other cops, but I never wrote a tickt that wasnt deserved, but then again I really liked the whole going home at the end of the work day...

Ya, most cops I know are the first to admit that there are MANY people that become cops for the completely wrong reasons... Many cops are assholes and there are plenty that are cool/understanding. I have had experiences with both...

O, and I fixed my last post for you wagon!

haha. So, maybe we should get off the \OT/

Don't have an MSP, but I ordered 3 qts of Redline MT90 earlier this morning... Hopefully get it by this weekend

Most of the cops in my area are douche bags, especially CHP

I went to get a fix it ticket written off at a CHP office for the smoked line in the center of my tails, and he refused to sign it because I had tint on my front windows and my car was unlawful. He said "You're lucky I don't write you up a citation, go and remove the tint and then come back. If you come back with your car unlawful, I will write you up"

I was like wtf? **** you then stuck up prick, acting like you're god or something. I then went to the Sheriff's office, rolled my front windows down before I parked, and had a sheriff check it out. He was pretty cool but he still poped my hood even though my ticket was for my tail lights.

The sheriff was a little more understanding though, his motive was to prevent kids killing them selves with high power street cars. I respect that, over the CHP guy who wants to hand out a citation for every little ******* thing.

I wanted to tell the sheriff, "Do you KNOW what a protege is and how slow it is? An automatic at that? I'd be a fool trying to race anyone." but I didn't. He wrote my ticket off and all was good :)

This is funny. But it makes me think, when I boost my car, considering it is NA. Would the officer tell me to remove the turbo? What about insurance: should I inform them or what not? I guess he was looking for colorful shiny objects.

You're really not supposed to do any modifications to your car if it's not for offroad/racing use. Pretty much everything is in some way not legal. Tint, lights, exhaust, etc... Just depends to what extent it impairs safety and/or the environment.

According to insurance you're insuring the car based on the VIN. unless you insure the aftermarket equipment seperately (you can) you don't have to tell them about it. just if you crash, they're going to pay you to replace the VIN... with a stock vehicle.

as for the officer, if you can keep it all stock appearing, just tell him you swapped all the parts out of an OEM mazdaspeed protege, year 2003, and you should be able to fight any ticket he would try to give you.

if it doesn't look stock, you may be SOL.

I doubt a cop is going to know what a MSP is. Just say it came like that or u bought it like that and ur good. He cant really prove otherwise.

they seem to know what it is here....but then again I think we have the most in any given place in NA here in the MTL area

You really trip them up with a familia badge...I got asked if I was in a gang or the mafia because of that.
