Hey guys i snapped one of the lug studs off my rear left wheel hub. How can i go about fixing this? I only have 4 lugs holding the rear left wheel on. Im alittle nervous about driving. I dont want the wheel to come off when im driving. Help.
that should be good.. Good luck
Take it to any tire shop you trust really, they will press it out with a hydrolic press, and then press the new one in...
wheel studs are easy...hit the old one out with a hammer....then get the new one in and use a lugnut to pull it in
When u say hit the old one out. How? Im a bit comfused.
I was trying to take the lug nut off and it snapped off with half of the stud still in the lug nut.
Take the wheel off and tap the broken stud out of the hub with a dead blow. Literaly just hit it til it falls out the back. put a new stud in and you're gonna need a new lug for this, but thread the lug onto it and it will seat the new stud in the hub when you tighten it down. I'd say buy new lugs caus ehte one with the broken stud stuck in it isn't worth salvaging.
Where can i get the stud and lug nut?
Most parts stores, Mazda, onlinemazdaparts.com, lugs you can sometimes find in the for sale section or ebay if you wanted to change to something a little more colorful or different. I have bronze long lightweight lugs on my car.
