Just wondering what kinda of inexpensive but effective upgrades i could do to my 01 mp3 as it only has 140 horses...thanks

buy a new car.
no just search around. theres your usual intake, header, exhaust. even though your stock with a racng beat. your not gonna gain much with basic bolt ons. turbo or a full n/a build. either way its gonna run you id say 300o grand or more to start seeing some decent power.

It will be expensive to make real power, but I dont think quite 3000 grand (=$3,000,000) lol. Intake, Header, pulleys and lightening (lighter rims, etc...) will be about as much as you're gonna get without spending some CASH. Don't bother with a new cat-back exhaust unless its just for the sound, your factory Racing Beat exhaust does just fine. And here's a link to all the how-to stickys for "free" mods. They won't get you much, but every bit counts

aiming for about 155-170 but i know 170 is pushing it if i wanted to keep it cheap
If you want 170whp, you basically have to go turbo. Just to get up to 150whp N/A is a difficult task. Read this, another member's aspirations for 150whp N/A.

That's my goal haha.Edit* O and get a new clutch and light flywheel, I hear the flywheel helps a lot. I'm gonna look into that down the road a bit.
