Change the IC or add a DP?

After the CAI I think adding a DP would be the logical next step. Opinions? Rest of the engine is stock.

I hear they both have great gains and cost similar money. The IC is WAYYY easier to install and is more dealer visit friendly. The DP sounds great....Personally I'm getting a new TMIC before I get a DP.

Next large chunk of found money I come into that`s what I plan on.

If you already have the CAI, the best bang for the buck is DP/RP into the stock CBE. Just one opinion.

I still have the stock IC, so my observation is subject to a claim of bias. Opening up the exhaust ahead of the stock CBE, combined with a good CAI has worked solidly measurable miracles for my MS3.

I'm going IC before DP, easier to install for dealer visits. Don't feel like finding out if my turbo seals are junk

You don't really need a new intercooler yet, the stock one can handle the amount of air flow it needs to cool without getting heat soaked.
Definitely go with the DP if your only other mod is a CAI. After you get a few more mods in there and are pushing more boost, then get a new intercooler.

Thats just my opinion.. i got my DP first and felt a great power gain.

why not finish off the intake an get a turbo inlet? its a lot cheaper than both the DP and the IC, and you'll notice a good gain from it. just prepare to have a loud intake. stock turbo inlet is just garbage.

+1. plenty of cheaper mods w/ good bang for the buck you can knock out before the tmic/dp upgrade... tip, mm's, bpv, rsb.

i'd do the tmic before the dp since it's easier to take off for the dealer. test pipe was painful enough.

you wont gain crap with the inlet pipe. its just a "last resort" mod where you have everything else basically. also the intercooler is NOT dealer friendly. its a major engine modification and will void your warranty as will the down pipe. if your not worried about warranty work id go with the dp because youll see the most gain for you buck plus it wont "go to waste". with the IC upgrade youll more than likely not be able to see the full benefits of it until you pretty much hook the car up on about every bolt on with boost increase. good luck

depends on your dealer. i would go talk to the service manager and ask about the mods you want

thats what i did and my service managers is cool with, FMIC, Intake, BOV b/c they help the car run more efficiently. his own words

he's even cool with rp/tp

so talk to your service manager, get a feel for him then pop the mod questions on him
