Post The Best Pictures of Your Mazda

Angle is hurting my head. Import magazines have really given photography a bad habit, lol. Try not to take a pic with the car at more than a 15 degree angle or so. Keep it simple. One of my favs of an MSP was one of MSPMichelles pic. I think she had a friend snap the shoot, and one pic was in the middle of a road. Awesome pic.

Here's a different pic thanks for the heads up...if the photos I take are bad I know not to take them at that angle or how to make the pics more balanced...PS when it comes to photography I don't know that much...thanks Falango.

haha, the vignetting is post processing via lightroom. it does distort pretty crazy when shooting at 10mm (but go figure, it's 10mm!), but it adds an awesome effect, IMO! the lowest it'll go is F4, although the new lense sigma is putting out is a constant 3.5 but its much more expensive.

Ahh ok. Yeah my 18-135mm has some slight distortion but not bad. I agree it does add a pretty sweet effect. you can easily make things stick out and seem larger than life without using a fisheye, which is something I despise!!

And its amazing how dropping the f/stop from f/4 to f/3.5 or f/2.8 can cost upwards of a grand!!

I need to reduce, forget enhancing. :)

actually, you were the person I was figuring I was referring to.... i mean... your car is basically one big enhancement of something very lack-luster. it would make sense.

edit: thank you for posting that btw... saved me from having to just call you out strait up.

You need some new headlights, may I suggest protege5 ones? :D

i definitely could use new headlights...(help)

yep! it gets crazy expensive, so i decided to take the less expensive route ;-)
i'm still loving the lense though!

you aren't paying just for a slightly lower f/stop, it's also higher quality opticals. take a look at the glass in a $100 dollar lens compared to a $1,000 lens.

That's a great picture. You're low to the car so you're not looking at the roof, the car is at a nice angle to the camera (perfect 3/4 shot), and the wheels are turned the correct direction. If I had only one suggestion, it would be to center the car a bit more vertically (top and bottom space), but your horizontal spacing is perfect.

You're coming along nicely, but don't give up trying new things. Play with angles, mess with settings on the camera and see what they do. Eventually you'll come up with a look you like and everything will come naturally. Also, keep a camera and some spray detailer with you always. You never know when you're gonna find yourself in a PERFECT place to take some photos of the car. Keep up the good work!

Well in this case. Its often the same optics just newer technology they are incorporating into things like the aperture, blade configurations to achieve closer focusing distances and less distortion.
So with most pro lens the optics are pretty much the same. But yes the difference in the glass between a $100 lens and a $1000 is substantial. That is why I like to stick to Nikkor lens because sometimes companies like Tamron and Sigma skimp out on the glass.

LOL I just noticed your mirrors. Did you put manual mirrors on your MP3?

You painted your rims white? Nooooo!!! or are those your winter rims?
Anyways..shooting at 10mm gets you that distortion. It can work or go against you.
