Newbie question about engine mounts

If shipping comes out not too expensive, I'll probably get it from you. I was quoted about 110$ for a brand new one, so around 60$ for yours, shipping included, I'd be interested. I'm not sure if 10$ for shipping is realistic, though. I imagine these things must be heavy.

and shipping will cost roughly 11.00
so if u would like the mount we can say 60.00 shipping in

Alright, I'll take it.

PM me so we can discuss how I'll pay you. (Paypal?)

I finally got my AWR88 motor mount installed yesterday. I gotta ask some questions, though.

First of all, I was expecting some shaking in the cabin, but not that type of shaking. Not that it's too much, actually, it's less than I thought it would, after what everyone told me. But, the shaking that it does is there not only at idle, but at very low RPM, and also at around 3000RPM when I'm in 5th gear. I guess it might be normal, but it's no plastic vibrations, but rather metal to metal type of vibrations. The engine also seems to be louder (especially in 1st gear, when I start to move the car slowly). Again, it makes sense since the Mazda MM is what kept the car from shaking a lot, but I'm just curious, or should I say anxious, to make sure that it was installed correctly and that what I'm experiencing is rather normal.

My 2nd point is that when they installed it, they told me that the AWR mount could not fit. I was VERY surprised, considering it came from another MS6. I don't know how I can explain that, but the Mazda mount had a bracket to be hold in. The AWR mount could not fit into that bracket, so they had to remove it, which is making me doubt about all that shaking and noises that I'm experiencing right now...

Any clues, anyone?

Here's the best picture I could find to pinpoint exactly what I'm talking about.

The piece surrounded by the red line is, obviously, what they used to mount that MM.

The little piece surrounded by the green line is what they had to remove. It's like a bracket inside the bracket.

It looked a little like that;

The AWR motor mount could only fit in between the [ ], but could not be squeezed in, in any ways between the ( ).

The smaller set of tabs on the inside are supposedly for assembly, they hang the mount on there at one point during the build process. You can dremel or bend the tabs out of the way, it won't affect anything.

Sweet! So that means, my vibrations should be normal, then. Thanks.

That's ok. I wasn't expecting it to, anyways. I just wanted to make sure it was "normal".

I ordered the CPE rear mount this weekend. Does anyone know if the tabs on the car will have to be drilled out or bent for this mount also?

I had to slightly bend the tabs when installing my SU mount. Vibes are slightly increased at idle, but as I've tried to describe it before, it isn't like a cheap "rattle" feel, it's more of a full "rumble" in the car, which I don't mind. It has settled down some since installing as well.

I don't remember bending or drilling anything to install my CPE mount... but my memory is a little hazy, it was a long time ago now, so I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure I didn't have to though, all I know is it took me FOREVER to line everything up right.

I didn't have to modify anything to install the cp-e.

i've been wondering this too, about that little tab. i got my mount in fine with it still on but should that tab be removed? does it affect how well the mount is tightened down?

No, the tab does not need to be removed. When installing mine, I had to be a little bit patient and twist/turn/leverage the mounts in and out with those tabs on there. I can see where someone might think they have to bend it in order to get them in and out. However, that wasn't the case for me. It all worked out just fine. It does not affect how the mount tightens down.

My mount is starting to break in a little bit. It was definitely a great add-on. First to second gear, and sometimes second to third gear are 100% comfortable shifts now.
