MS3 Owners: Show us your wheels

I had some clunking in front but that was because i forget to tighten an important bolt. Maybe i am a bit out there, but even after a shop does work that is above me i go back and check hardware after some driving miles. you should have no new noises in my opinion though. Unless there was something missed. People say you do not need a wheel realignment after install of Cobb springs. Have your shop throw it up on the lift again. Boy that front end is low with lip. cool

Yeah I gave it a few days thought (hoped) maybe it was just the springs settling but I still got the noise. Called them they are going to look at it friday (I work 3 12 hour midnights this week). I would descibe the noise as a clunk slightly higher pitched like under tension. It occurs over bumps, worse at slower speeds.Noise only seems to be in the front. I got alligment at same time as install steering is straight as an arrow and I got no noises driving in a circles in a parking lot. There is no play in steering wheel and I couldnt imagine it is the struts as it began basically as soon as I left (however they were closing as I left). The ride isnt bad but the noise is deff. noticeable if there was no noise I would think it is normal. I think I will call cobb too to see what they say or maybe Ill wait to see what this place says?(boom02)

It's rare that anyone puts anything but the same tired Rotas or Tenzos on an MS3.

They went on today. I want to lower the car some more, next time I have time to work on it I'll install my camber links, roll the fenders and take it down another half inch all around. Then I'll take some more pics.

Man, hurry up and just do it! Just kidding. Yeah, if I ever had the money, I was thinking of those wheels too.

SwampAss - Yeah, I've seen your ride too. Pretty clean as well. But I've been waiting for someone to put on the wheels Wastegate has since I would consider those wheels.

Anymore ballin wheels out there?

I liked your old rays wheels way better wastegate I thought those were badass and I got mesh style wheels even. I know those are very high quality however if I just saw them from a far I would think they were asa wheels or sumthin. Sry just my .02 no one cares anyways.

Thats's funny because everyone thought the RAYS were stock wheels. ASA wheels are licensed BBS designs. What's really important in a wheel is construction and quality. The LM's and my RAYS are forged and come from companies that have been in the wheel game a very long time. I liked the RAYS, I bought them because they were somewhat unique. Right up to the point where some old guy in my town has them on a black mica MS3. That was the day I decided to get new wheels and I came across a great deal on the LM's. To my knowledge no one is running this wheel on an MS3 except for me.

It was my understanding that ASA looked to BBS to mirror design and manufacturing processes. They did so to attempt to dive into the OEM wheel manufacturing business back in the late 80s or early 90s. ASA wheels are not cheaper alternatives to BBS wheels as I'm sure you know. They just have very similar company philosophies with regard to how their wheels are made.

Rays and Work make great wheels for form and function. I wish i could afford them. Maybe the Work nuts on my old and tired Tenzos would spice it up a bit.

i guess my rotas offend people....lmao. (rofl2) SO WHAT, im cheap. Ill buy three sets of rotas for every one set of "baller" wheels out there and change my shoes every week or so. hahahahaha

ill make you look at them anyway

Thanx, to be honest i wasnt even looking at these rims. I wanted to go with some rotas and i was gonna purchase it and kept asking my fiance for her opinion and she just kept sayn that the ones i liked were ugly. Apparently, she has been planning this for a while since she wasnt able to get anything for my b-day. She got a great deal for the rims from my cousin who works for a big wholesale car parts distributor, she payed close to what i was gonna pay for the rotas with tires. I do have the center caps but havent got around to putting them on.

Nice wheels and a good woman it seems. Will you add center caps?

Ya my fiance is a crazy about cars. She wasnt when i first met her but its been a hobby of mine for so long that she got into it. She wants me to trade in both my cars and get a skyline. Ya my fiance is great, one in a million. This is the first car that i started with and that she loves to drive around:

your fiance has good taste man

I like your rotas STRICK, nice clean setup. It was actually your car and madvillians car that inspired me to go with the rotas. I just wanted to go as flush with the fender as possible.

These look great, don't care if they are "cheap" by other peoples standards, still more expensive than anything that I can get....still rolling on the stockers. Clean car. Very nice

thanks for the compliments guys. I always say, its about the look, not the name of the look. So far ive had no problems with the quality of my cheap wheels, so i cant complain. Go with what YOU like and youll never go wrong. If you want to spend big money on wheels go for it, but dont bash me for going cheap. Ill oblige by not bashing your rolling money pits either!!(thumb)

heres a prime example..... A guy that I know ran over something on a poorly lit road last week in his 350Z. He has a set of HRE wheels( http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels/series.php?q=/COMP/COMP97/ ). Here is the car and the rim aftermath. Luckily the car wasnt damaged and the tire stayed on (boom04). Lets just say ballers pay the price for new baller rims and it aint cheap!
the car (not a bad daily driver..huh)

yeah that is a sick mr2. does she want you to get the new gtr or like a r33 or r34? i say go for it if you can especially the r33.

This always turns into a pissing match with no one making any headway. I don't hate Rotas, I've had 2 sets of them and I may pick up another set as temp wheels when I decide to refinish my LM's. Like STRICK said, buy what YOU like since it's your car and your money.

I agree with STRICK, its all about the look and what you like. Not everyone has the same taste. Ive owned both expensive and cheaper sets of rims and believe me they all bend.
