What have you done to your MSP today?

I don't know from experience, I'm kinda just shooting my mouth off here, but I BARELY slip the clutch from a stop, so I feel like if I had less rotating mass there, I'd kill it a lot at first unless I conciously changed my driving style...
 
Just installed the 4 point ladder bar or whatever its called from GT Spec. I have to finish the trunk cage still :P

It didn't really seem like I had to give it less gas, or slip the clutch less, to get it moving. I'm sure others might chime in but to me the car is a PITA to drive anyway. For some reason this manual trans car is so much harder for me to drive than any other that I have driven.

Well It did seem to go through the gears a little quicker but driveablity wise it seemed fine. I DO think it benefits performance wise but I don't think it should be anthing you should worry about. To me personally I didn't have any harder time trying to drive the car.
 
Removed the bumper with a little help from another member on the forum, so it can be repainted. Check the "best pictures of your Mazda" section for a quick pic. When I get a minute, I'll change the sig to something a little more appropriate for the current time.
 
the fidanza flywheel is a big difference.. driveability wise, you can def daily drive it. it revs up and down faster, helping you boost quicker.. it's a great mod.

but at the same time the flywheel takes away from the rotating weight which puts a load on it to spool sooner.. Its a win/lose..
 
Changed the oil, installed my new valve cover, put on my NGK wires, and put my interim wheels on (Stock Racing Harts. Put them on between my winter wheels and my Buddy Clubs).

BTW....trying to sell my DG carbon fiber engine cover that was used for only a couple months. Anyone interested?? (bowdown)

Should spool later. As mentioned above by reducing the rotating mess you take load off the engine, which is what helps build boost. Between the lightweight flywheel and underdrive crank pulley I can't build more than a few psi in first gear. In second I max around 9 psi and in the others I can build a full 10 psi. I just like the flywheel because it offsets the loss in low-en torque I got from switching to the 626 IM.
 
blew my turbo yesterday... wasnt hard on it at all just cruisin at 50MPH... and then she jerks I don't build any boost up but it starts slowly loosin boost... and then a huge plume of white smoke out the tail pipe... yay intake side...
 
88,582... I was a hole block and a half from the house too... so sad... oh well, this gives me a reason to do I quick build... I say quick cuz well I aint a fan of driving the RX7 the 420 doesnt get the best gas milage...
 
yeah it does... but hey I knew it was going to go but not this soon lol... the previous owner admittedly said he ran 18 pouns of boost threw it often... but that was 2 years ago... so I pushed my luck and as soon as I could start saving up money for the build BOOM it goes... just my luck...

When i lowered my civic all i had was a toolkit from walmart. goto the autoparts store and rent a spring compresser. if you dont have an air compresser some auto parts stores rent electric impact wrenchs. i was lucky enough to get one from my local autozone. i had never seen an electric one before. damn thing threw sparks and dimmed lights in the house. it was great. make sure you have a dedicated circuit though. anyway, it only took me and a couple friends about 6 hours to do em. none of us had ever done it and we spent about 2 hours trying to get a rounded bolt off. youll never learn to do it unless you attempt it!!!

Today I took my rear motor mount out cause i couldnt stand the vibrations. i also adjusted my sway bar ends to compensate for my weight. the car is tight as hell in the corners now.

Where in Cinci are you? I've seen a few MSPs around but no one acknowledges the turbo P5. FWIW, I personally love my AWR rear mount.
