Corksport MM Inserts. My first Mod!

So..I installed the motor mount inserts quite a while ago (last October I think). As of now, they're completely transparent. AWR Race Motor Mount goes in tomorrow...

Who else thinks these things were transparent after a while? I guess I should have listened to other reviews. They definitely did well at first.

I think they were great, but I moved on to TRZ mounts. Even broken in, I think the inserts at least keep the stock mount in good shape. That's a plus for sure.

I feel like it's done a poor job of keeping shifting and engine movement under control, as opposed to how it did when it was brand new, it did great. Why not make a stronger insert?

With having mine installed for 6 months and 5k miles now, Shifter feel is still good I think. The motor does rock a little, but nowhere near like stock or as violent. I agree, these mounts are just a temp fix because you still have the stock mount rubber that degrades. Maybe mine feels still pretty good, but possible becuase it doesn't get that cold here or something.

Take them out and see how transparent they are.. I did a week ago, and now I get crazy wheel hop, and it sounds like the motor is hitting the firewall.. The inserts are a great comprimise for a DD if you don't want tons of vibration

I agree, i'm sure it'd be unbelievable how much more the engine rocks.

But in terms of clutch consistency and improvement, I have to say on a scale of 1-10 this mod is a 6, with initial response of 8. It felt great at first and even felt like the exhaust note changed to a more aggressive tone. But it naturally faded away and so did my confidence it was doing anything.

I'm installing the AWR race mount tomorrow. After already having driven in a AWR-equipped MS3, i'm pretty confident i'll feel the power again of what it's like to keep the motor truely in place.

Your engine moves and everytime it does, it pulls at your shift linkages and you can't always expect the same performance when the motors rocking back and forth.

I tried the trz delrin first it was way too loud,, the inserts don't help the shift feel as much, but they are doing something positive without a doubt.

does it really make THAT big of a difference? why would the shifting improve?

with a real solid mount it it night, and day

At least you check your part every now and then, good work. Make sure to do the samw with the awr. I ripped both street and race bushings right in half. If you dont drive too hard too often, you should be ok.

I hardly drive it hard, atleast compared to other folks who mash on it all the time.

But, even AWR equipped, the person who's car I drove has had zero issues with the mount.

You should be ok then. My awr's felt good, they just didnt last. Both of them broke in rather cold temps. I think their poly gets brittle in the cold and cracks.

Just installed the AWR 20 minutes ago with mazdaspeedster3, a couple notes:

-the cs insert mount was a total pita to remove. Had to undo the exhaust hangers near the mount to move the engine.

-the AWR mount is sick!!! The car is a totally transformed beast and feels 100% like it should have came like this. Vibes are very minimal at best!

Tru- what symptoms did you experience when the mounts broke on yours?

I appreciate all your comments and agree on most too, but it is funny that you say " it should have come from the factory like this!" when I remember we all said the same thing after installing the Inserts. I least i did. What is the stiffest rear mount i can buy and who would you folks recommend has the best price? My insert is no longer cutting it. Vibrations be damned. Any thoughts on this

I agree that we all said that. Because that's how it was in the very beginning!

The awr mount is amazing. Trz is a little more rough for my liking..

Its very firm, and the shifting is fantastic. But both are amazing and a total must do mod.
