INSTALLED: Impressions of the new Medieval Motorsports DogBone Rear Motor Mount

Fact.... Bigger bushings are more likely to tear. Just ask cpe, awr, su, stock mm's. It will feel nive and soft i'm sure. So did my 2 awr mounts until the shiny red bushings came flying out from under my car. Oh well. Not my problem. My little bushing TRZ mount has handled over 50 launches on slicks and countless hours of steet abuse. When i see that from a medieval mount i'll be impressed.

I'm not pissed in the least bit, I'm still glad I got the TRZ mount. I will say this though to your "bigger bushings" comment. I'm not buying this mount for comfort, I'm going through this trouble and cost to lock my motor in place. If I wanted more bushing material I'd get inserts. We'll see how that MM mount holds up over time, figuring it's so new there's little info to say how it will come out. My guess, like the others with more bushing material, it will deliver a loss in crisp performance when it breaks in. Let's face it, nothing that performs well in the motor mount/trans/driveline/suspension department adds to or mimics stock comfort when your making it bullet proof and performance oriented. It all makes the ride worse but give things back in return.

To further the anger comment, there's many others that do seem to be pissed. If anything I'm slightly amused that so many apply such personal ownership to an inanimate item they didn't make...like I've insulted a family member or something.

If you want the MM mount, by all means get it...I just find it interesting they copied a design.

...and that's really where my point ends.

this TRZ MM didnt

That mount was not properly tightened. I can see that by the way it ovaled the bushing. It is the only case of this, and it is clearly from being loose.

maybe sour grapes b/c the Medieval is cheaper and effective?

just let it go man. if you dont like it, dont buy it or waste your time bagging on it

Cheaper, yes... Effective, who the hell knows !! They have been on a few cars all of what 5 minutes ? Lets see how they hold up long term wih people that actually race their cars. Lets face it, those who cry about a few vibrations are clearly not the racer type. I'll stick with whats tried, true, and offers more stability. After 500+ TRZ mounts sold there has been 1 single report of issue. And the mount didnt even break ! It was clearly not tightened properly and still managed to stay together. Time will tell i guess. Is cheaper better? IMO in this case, you get what you pay for. A cheap mount is just that.

wow, did you just figure that out.

that is exactly what i stated in my impression. i ddidnt want the TRZ b/c my car is a DD not a race car which is the same way may others feel.

so i stated that this MM is great for performance while remaining comfortable. sorry that we are all cry babies b/c of the big bad vibes

TRZ/PG fanboy chill

its a mount dude. who cares. if you dont like it, sit back, be a hater and see if the mount fails. either way

WHO CARES

PG fanboyism is really getting annoying...

Anything that has the Medieval title on it gets attacked like a pack of wolves.

you know, puss never came to mind. i was thinking more along of the lines of umm...a dick.

but thats just me

Wow, having fun guys.....

Anyways, back to the reason for this thread. I received a Medieval dogbone mount today. 240ka, did you have any toruble getting the bushing (rear) portion of the mount to fit? For the life of me, I could not get the mount to squeeze in between the two tabs on the front crossmember. I did some emasuring and came up with some interesting figues. The stock mount measures 45mm thick, the TRZ that I am taking out comes in at 46mm and the Medieval is 49mm. I didnt have a chance to throw the calipers under the car to measure the mounting location but I would guess it to be around 47-48mm wide. I'll try again in the morning but it looks as if I will have to sand down the bushings on the Medieval mount in order to squeeze it in there. Any thoughts on this?

Thats a good idea. After thinking about it I realized that it might be difficult to sand something soft like that. Thanks.

no prob man. just glad you didnt ssand it.

and in regards to PG

im getting turned off by how some of the vendors or people who are in close relation to the vendors of PG act. its getting me to a point i will never buy anything from them

Hey man i am just trying to save people a headache. I've warned people after i ripped 2 awr mounts. I gave this same speech about hiw a 2 piece SU and medieval's first mount would fail... They did, in pretty large numbers. I warned about cpe's so-called better than poly, big fat rubber bushings. Gues what... Half of their first batch failed quickly. So now people are jumpin on the bandwagon wanting to make dog bone mounts. Thats fine, but good god, at least do it right. Using a bushing that you have to beat in with a hammer..... Come on now !!!

i didnt have to beat the bushing with a hammer lame. i had to lube the bushing a bit and knock the MM into place.
