What have you done to your Miata today?

No. I didn't pressure him. I want it done right. He said it would take three weeks to a month to paint it. He does other jobs around it so it isn't the only thing he's doing. That keeps some money coming in as he plods along on my car. I haven't seen it since Monday; so, it most likely has priimer on it, at least. Once he has that sanded where he wants it, it won't take long to spray the color. It's the sanding between coats, etc that takes a while. I may go over there later today and see how it's coming. I haven't heard anything on my seats, either. I need to speak to the owner of the shop, if they aren't done the next time I call. He's already past when he said he'd have those done. There's no rush, yet; but, I'll need them when the painter is done.

Ya good idea on not rushing. And you definitely need seats, otherwise, its pretty uncomfortable to drive. lol

had some m4d tyt3 custom delrin offset bushings made for the rear upper control arms (the bushing in the knuckle). They were installed last night, set screws in place to keep them steady. Finally able to align it into reasonable numbers for as low as we're running it :).

We currently are only running about 1* in the rear, but we can pretty much dial in as much camber as we want w/ the regular eccentric bolts.

EDIT: Also picked up some Bosch Icons. The wipers were pretty much shot and it looked like we were in store for a couple wet events this weekend, so I figured I'd go for the good stuff. HOLY S*** do these things rule :D

^ Yep, that's frustrating.

Today, I called the upholsterer about the seats. Not done, yet. I asked what the holdup is. They've been working on seats for trucks for one of their steady customers. OK, that's fine. Mine is a one time job. I did tell them the painter will most likely be applying paint, this week. I'll need the seats to get it home. He said he'd try to get them done. Apparently, the other customer dropped several seats by for repair. He said my seats are looking good, though. I'm almost tempted to drive down there to see just how much he's done. I'll wait until the end of the week for that.

I did go to the painter, today. Other than some small stuff and the bumpers, the car now has a nice coat of primer on it. He's also had some jobs come in from a regular customer; so, he's had to multitask to work on mine, as well. I told him he's doing just fine. I didn't see any dents or dings in the car. He said it may start getting color, this week. That would be really nice. He's got to finish filling in the tag holes in the front bumper and get that sanded down before he starts block sanding the rest of the car. I'm pleased, so far.

You should take some pics too....before/during/after.

My Miata is on a ship right now. 2 months to go before it arrives from Turkey.

That's a long wait; but, I guess it isn't much worse than mine. Hopefully, it will arrive home safely for you. As for the photos, that's a good thought. I keep forgetting the camera, though.

Well...I had to wait that long when it got there 2 years ago....and even longer because Turkish lawas suck balls. It took me 1 month to get registration/plates/insurance etc.
Here in the states...it takes 1 maybe 2 days.

adjusted the seals above the door windows. Hopefully that will stop the leaking.

Also deleted the visors and adjusted the very loose throttle cable.

going to install a stubby antenna as soon as it comes in and do a full oil/trans. fluid change.

I'm not sure one can stop the leaks along the windows of a Miata. I've seen a few drops of water pass the seals on the '06 Miata I had. I've had three, so far; and, all leaked a little. However, none have leaked more than a few drops when driven in the rain. It was mainly when I washed them. No big deal. Nowadays, our cars generally stay in the garage, if the weather is bad. They're best chance for getting rained on is if we get caught out in it, for some reason. That makes it easier to keep them clean.

I've looked at removing the visors; but, I find myself using the little fellas, from time to time. They aren't much; but, they work well enough that I've not decided to take them out, yet. If they break, I guess I'll remove them, then.

+1
Majority of the time its during a wash...but sometimes if its a really bad storm...I'll get some water in there...hate that!

Hard top ftmfw! (lol2) I think my clutch slave is goin out. Never had it happen to me before, so idk for sure. But it feels like it catches barely off the floor, and this morning it felt worse than normal. I dont/never have/probably wont do burnouts or drift or anything that would abuse it. Any ideas/past experiences that could help on this. Oh ya, i took apart my window switch to clean the contacts since my driver's side window didnt wanna work. I have had to to this before, so it was no big deal.... until i lost a f**kin piece. So now my passenger window doesnt work. Lame. OEM $65. Used via Ebay $20. Hmmm (uhm)

Sounds like the clutch slave. Doesn't have much life left, mine did that too. Like, couple days to a week tops. Get it changed ASAP. It's not hard, and it'll leave you @ the side of the road (unless you know how to drive a manual w/o a clutch ;))

I can float gears all day long, till i have to stop lol Autozone carry that kinda stuff, or would i have to order it, do you know?

*Edit* my local autozone has it, $50

there you go, pick one up and change it.

will do. How long is it gonna take me with hand tools? 30 minutes? Im pretty good with a wrench.

About that if you have a friend to help bleed the hydraulic lines after you're done w/ the swap. Just like bleeding brakes, only it's not the brakes ;). You'll need to get all the air out of the system.

I got friends since the last time we talked about this lol Yay me! I feel like i jinxed (sp?) myself cuz i started a thread a while ago asking about this, and now its happening to me. The car gods smite me.

I installed a new radiator this evening as a preemptive meaure since the one in the car is almost 20 years old. I ordered a Koyo direct replacement and am very satisified by the quality. It looks identical to the original.

Aside from that, I added a hardware tweak to the ECU, re-wired the WB O2, progressed with a new cold-air box, and ordered a set of Hoosier 255/40/13 A6's :D.

Nice, i should prolly get one too. I noticed the other day that its got a s*** ton of rocks and dents in it since i have no grill. But thats for later, for now i get to replace my slave cylinder. hey amaff, remember we gave it a couple days? i didnt even drive it home today lol i popped the hood to see how low the level was, and sure enough, almost completely empty. so i was curious if i could get it in first and float it home, and it wouldnt even go into gear. So i took the co. truck and my boss is gonna let me fix it at work tomorrow. I already got the part, turns out theres two of em, depending on the vin. one was 50 and one was 35, so i caught a break there and needed the thirty five one. so well see how tomorrow goes

Huh? Kev, I thought you knew more about miatae than me? The OEM radiator is about the only thing Mazda underengineered on the miata. It's half plastic, and looks like garbage... and usually fails at about 100k miles... the Koyo "direct replacement" I have looks nothing like the oem POS. I too am pleased with my Koyo "direct replacement" rad, but it is lightyears ahead of the actual oem piece. Its all aluminum, and shiny as heck. (tho in my specmiata I threw in a mishimoto unit at nearly half the price, and I like it better...)
