Traded my 08 Mazdaspeed 3 in this past weekend

i vote for polishing out the stockers! they look nice! ...plus that gives you more $ for mods...get an exhaust on that bad boy asap!

Pretty sure the base crossfire is the only one that deploys at a fixed speed... this one's fixed

he's correct it's fixed on the srt model(iagree)

the only complaints that i had about the srt6 was the navigation...you can't play anything else except the navi disks as it's a single disk player, you would have thought they would have put a 6 disk in it so you can load a map and still listen to some tunes and the rear vis. is horrible...but i could over look both and will be getting one in the future as a toy!

Are you referring to the manis? If so these ones are much, MUCH larger than stock- I don't think porting/polishing stockers would even come close. Though I like the "look" of the stockers.

Regarding the exhaust- I mentioned this earlier, but it seems no one is doing them on their 6's. Either they don't have much of a performance increase or no one makes a good full exhaust for the SRT. Even the guys running 11's are on stock exhaust. However that makes me wonder if doing the exhaust would put them over the top to break the 11.8/11.7 barrier they are seeing w/o spray.

I know upgrading the DP on the STi and Mazdaspeed yielded HUGE gains. I wonder how different this engine w/ SC is compared to turbo cars?

Yeah sorry- it's fixed. I sort of like the stock one that hides, better.

lol...the stock in-headunit nav is a joke. I don't see why anyone would use that over an aftermarket garmin or similar.

being a v-6 gives it a huge advantage over the stis 2.5 and the speed3s 2.3. The dp does make a huge difference tho, with a tune the dp makes approx 45 whp and 85wtq on the sti

Oh...I know! I had an 05 STi w/ Cobb Stage2- it was nice!

well, there isn't a downpipe on your car, but, i can guarantee nice equal length properly r&d'd headers would show you nice increases when running increased boost. i can 100% guarantee that.

the problem is...there is no market for it, and the cost to really R&D that would be silly considering how small that market is UNLESS....someone, somewhere makes headers for the Mercedes that engine came in. THAT is a more viable market.

for instance, check this out. they aren't equal length, but they certainly are claiming some gains for the blown 3.2 and the maker claims compatibility with the srt6 - http://www.mbworld.org/forums/c32-a...pecial-c32-c320-slk32-slk320.html#post3271498

Interesting- I'll check into that! I just ordered my Johnson Intercooler Pump upgrade and will be ordering the 178 ASP pulley when I get back from my honeymoon next week. Oh yeah my wedding is on Saturday- wish me luck! *dead man walking*

PS The newest craze is a Hight Stall Torque Converter just released by LET Peroformance: http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31424 To be honest I don't quite understand how it works.

from what i gather it works just like any other stall convertor out there...higher revs off the line in 1st gear = faster overall times.

Just an update- not that most of you care. Back from the honeymoon- and have the upgraded intercooler pump, cold air intake, and ASP 178 crank pulley kit installed. The same mod's my friend Chris had when he ran 12.2 at our local (Atco, NJ) track.

It is a monster! Sounds like a blast furnace at full throttle- and pulls harder than my other friend's C6 vette! I'm looking forward to a tune now and some runs at the track to see what kind of times I can get out of it!

Nice... I always thought the Chryslers were, well... not that great actually when they were new. Buying secondhand makes a lot more sense though. It's a pretty rare car too. Did any other Chrysler vehicle wear the SRT-6 badge?

--- sorry for the late comment I didn't realize how old the thread was. It seems that most have detered from your car to penis enlargers.

man i was looking at srt6's on ebay the other day...they had a convert model with less than 2k miles on it...was only at 16 grand. if someone got it for that price what a steal!

and yes we need pics asap and get that thing to the track i want to see what it can do.

Yeah just one- the 300C SRT-8. Keep in mind the Crossfire isn't truly a Chrysler it's a rebadged Mercedes SLK32 AMG.
