One set of 16" Sport wheels and Dunlop Wintersport tires is the only thing I've bought for the car in coming-up-on two years.

I have no plans for modding until something breaks AND after the warranty expires.

Sorry to be the stick in the mud. (jerkit)

If we're talking mods & accessories only, then I've put in a net of $1,128. This is factoring in selling of my stock wheels, stock RSB, and the COBB SRI I won in a raffle, too.

im not hating on swampass or anything, im basically just saying that there is other things worth blowing money on right now(for me). especially with the way the economy is, and might be getting even worse. i used to have a civic si when i lived with my parents and i did the same thing he's doing which is fine for him.

I'm almost 35 with a wife, kid, mortgage.....

I know people who spend money on vacations, clothes, going to clubs, or fancy restaurants. I spend money on cars and bikes.

Having other things in the world worth blowing money on is subjective.

HID-look fogs $ 20

I refuse to spend more $ than this on the MS3 [well, mebbe a spin-on filter conversion]. IMHO, Mazda should have made a CAI + ss standard on this car. I'm not trying to start a controversy, but why in the world would you take a $24k car and add $13k to it? If you're up to $37k, might as well save $8k more and buy a used C6 Z06 Vette. No amount of mods can put the MS3 in the same league as a Z06...

I don't think that's a fair comparison because some of us (like SwampAss) need the utility of the MS3 for a childseat and other assorted family-oriented junk.

Now an STi, that's a different story.

Interest - $1200

I wanna cry now....

But for my aftermarket parts, its closing in on $1500-1600
I still haven't finish installing my Boost Tubes or the Oil Filter Conversion.

These are estimated prices... I should update when I can look up my receipts. The rest of the mods in my sig were free or gifts.

Wow... $3340... that would have been about the difference I would have paid if I had gotten the white gt with nav instead of the true red sport!

Oh I know you're right. I'm just trying to justify my exorbitant expenditures. ETS TMIC, BC Coilovers, and CP-E motor mount package and I'm done!

You can't look at it like OMG $13K! It's the journey there. It's the anticipation of getting the parts in, installing them (or having them installed) and driving your "new" car.

It's kinda like motorcycle riding. It's not the destination, it's the ride.

Yeah, but the smart money's in buying the car from the factory just like you wanted, not buying a car and making it what you want.

I never have, and probably never will modify a car.

Thanks for the financial lesson. :p. I'm smart with money for the most part. I spend money I allocate for fun. It's more like 9k with my money return post sales. That's 4.5k a year or 400 a month. How many of you rent the place you live in?

This is so wrong. The pleasure is in finding a decent car and making it truly yours, whether that is a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror or a complete suspension, exhaust and intake upgrade.
Hell, I've been driving around for the last year with the bottom half of the inside of my front doors missing because every time I work out the plan to install my 6.5 inch subs in them I change my damned mind and put it off because I think of a better idea. Now I'm stuck until spring because it's too effing cold to fiberglass outside. But hey, it's MINE and just like me, it's a work in progress (and yes Swampie, before you say it, we're both a real piece of work).
