new in dash for the 3's

Well got home and decided to install the package sitting on my front step. not to bad of install a little tight to fit everything behind the radio. 1st time LC display did not work, Swapped wires on blue tooth module, display worked then. No place for factory Sirius to plug in so no Satellite unless you by the XM Navigation unit. Started messing around with it, radio reception very poor, no Am at all(I can live with that I guess) went in grabbed a DVD (WANTED) threw it in, After figuring out about the brake switch hook up finally got a pic, NO SOUND. I try everything no luck. then I try the blue tooth, Call home they here me I don't here them. Needless to say Its back in its box heading back. I guess the LCD display is not that important you can still see the a/c position on the switch, guess I will go by an Eclipse Screen. Always had good luck with. Sorry didn't even take pics. Didn't match a/c controls anyways.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. So you did get sound out the speakers from the radio, but not from the DVD or phone?...weird. Did you have a chance to try the GPS?

Just to be clear, this was the unit that is currently priced at $1050 on caradvanced, or the $1000 unit?

That seems to be the problem, guys at car advanced believe I can rewire the bose system to make it work. I am trading it out for the pop up with small dvd player and keep the factory head unit, I will just attach the JL cleansweep or something like that to run the aftermarket amp and sub going in next week or 2.

Can this one control (switch between functions) on the trip computer and ambient control thingy? Thats the only thing im afraid of losing, if you can Im buying this right now, $500 for a kick ass Nav, TV, Parking Sensors, Back up camara? WOW!

Also do you have to drill the bumper to install the sensors?

It looks nearly identical to the 'other' unit at caradvanced, sans the dss logo at the bottom. Unfortunately caradvanced doesn't show the menus, so we can't tell whether the software is the same.

It seems this unit can go by a few names. I've also seen it referred to as the Caska 3035. Not too long ago one was on ebay, and sold for $599. Starting to wish I had jumped on that.

I kind of doubt that the trip computer will be maintained. As far as I know no unit is available that will retain that function. It is built into the stock HU, so once it is gone, that function is lost. With that said, I seem to recall hearing that if you are desperate there is a way to keep it if you relocate the stock HU somewhere else, and maintain some sort of connection to it.

We really need more videos on these things!

none of the units support the trip computer info, i have confirmed this with more than one site/manufacturer... but if you buy a dashhawk, then you really wont need to worry about that now will you?

They told me they would have it in seven days about 7 days ago. The site also says that there is a delay from when you order it to get it from the factory and they give you a backup camera for the incovenience. They were very helpful when I emailed them a bunch of questions before they had all the info they have on there now.
A group buy would be nice, but I think for that unit its pretty much wholesale pricing anyways. With 10 people I think the price is only around $30 less.
