Broken front bumper

Woke up one weekend and found this.....

its going to cost around $950 to replace/paint the front bumper (pissed)
going to wait until the winter is over to replace it

The damage didnt seem to be from another car hitting it. The pressure/damage looks broad and not concentrated and the damage exist on the top part of the bumper. Either someone kicked it or someone fell on it with a bike or something.

$950 seems a little steep. Had My Si's bumper replaced and repainted and installed to factory spec for $550, they did an excellent job.

How much are they charging you for just the bumper replacement?

yeah get a printed quote so you can see how much they are charging for the bumper. Then go to OnlineMazdaParts.com to see if they have a better deal shipped to you.

Also when you get this one put on, maybe consider the 3M clear bra stuff. Not that it would really protect from someone kicking it or whatever but it will protect from chips and such.

if it was vandalized/kicked, thats a comp loss, non-chargeable on your insurance, just have to pay your comp deductible and you're set. Mine's $100, its cheap to have your comp deductible low.

Think about that and try your car insurance if thats what they say it is.

i got 3 different printed quotes and they were $940,$950,$960. They were charging me about $450 for the bumper

AutoEXE bumper is great quality and fit at around $700.

Don't like the look of them myself due to funky pacement of the lights, I got rid of my fog lights anyway when I got a new bumper.

labor to install a bumper is definitely in the 100s. If he does it himself hell be saving alot more than 40 bucks on labor. A standard tech hour (in CA) is 95$ an hour. A body shop isnt that much different.

The autoexe bumper i believe is in the high hundreds. Someone above said 700? i thought it was a bit more. And it doesnt come painted, so factoring in paint and labor and hes close the price he was quoted.

I think getting JUST an aftermarket front bumper would look hella ricer. You would need to complete tyhe kit by getting upgraded side skirts and rears. Otherwise the front will be lower than the rest and look like one of those ricers who can't afford the whole kit and kist gets the front.

I still say use your insurance and pay your deductible. Hopefully yours is low.

Well I think the Autoexe isnt that ricer looking. The CS fronts look more ricer. The MS3 has side skirts which I guess wont make the car look "front heavy" and balance it out a bit.

it looks like the total cost increase to a autoexe over stock is about $200-250

yea, just call your insurance company and tell them that you saw someone kick your car and run off. they will though most likely ask you if you reported it to the popo.

Definitely get the clear film. A repainted bumper from your average shop will not be as durable as from the factory (if you can believe that). I have one on mine and not a single scratch so far.

the ms3 bumpers r pricey...and you dont want the cheap afteramarket s***, I hate dealing with s*** that dont fit.
