My New Shift Knob

I decided to go with a Monsterknob.com shift knob and received it yesterday. It is a 2in round knob made of resin that is highly polished and matches the black trim in my 2008.5. Supposedly it won't get as hot or as cold as metal knobs. Some wouldn't like that it is not heavy, seems lighter than the factory knob and it has no shift pattern in case you let others drive your car.

So far I like it.

It can also be installed in the "half-mast" position by not using the furnished mounting hardware (nut and 2 washers). The boot sags a little but the knob is probably an inch lower with slightly shorter throws when shifting. Actually after taking this picture I pulled the boot up and it stayed in place pretty well. I may not worry about putting something on the shaft to hold it up.

Sorry if my first picture embarrassed you Kain.

LOL at this thread. I actually thought about the "my new haircut" video when I was clicking on it and wondered if someone would be bored enough to actually do a video like that about a shift knob. Anywayyyy.

I like it, let us know how the temperature thing works out. I loved my Greddy knob but hated that I had to have a booty on it so it when parked.
