GI: The Most Amazing NE. GA Meet!

Yup.. and preferably on a Friday.. every other Friday I would be available to go, so count tomorrow as one of those Fridays, then count every other Friday from tomorrow :p

Does commerce have anything on the weekend so we can all make it? Its pretty impossible for the atlanta people to make it up on a friday night

Saturdays would be a family event LOL I'll have my daughter with me then (she's almost 4), but yeah, I think Saturdays they have something.. Bracket Racing.. no idea what that is. www.atlantadragway.com

Cool we will come up with something. And bring her along I think my dad brought me to my first nhra top fuel event when I was 4 or 5

How about the Bowling Alley in Buford(@985 &20 behind the park and ride) while the weather is still so cold.On a Friday or Saturday evening?

Well I used to work at that one and as I said in post #5, it's not as cheap as the NP meets (though they have some pretty nice deals throughout the week) I still know most of the folks up there (at least the important ones) and sometimes they give me free games. You can also just buy an hour v. per game and sometimes that can be cheaper if you bowl quicker.

That all being said, I don't think Oasis Bowling Center will be sufficiant for the ATLiens (throwback to Outkast there) (WMBEAVER IS AN ASSHAT) that would have to drive. Sadly, that's about all Buford has to offer.

Commerce is looking good though Fast Friday is the only event I am aware they have that might be any fun. Let me do some more research. The good thing about Commerce though, is all the freaking fast food places around there.

Anyhow, thanks for making this thread something!

Definitely.. anything and everything.. and it's all close together (headbang)

Anyone know?

I went to Japanese Motor Works today to pick up my exhaust mani, and when I was leaving they were driving in a yellow P5, Clarke County tag, and it had a DG Motorsports hood, painted yellow on the sides going up with the angles on each side of the hood.. who would that be?!

Sorry. Not someone I know. I see a blue P5 with some slight exterior mods in Gainesville from time to time.

So I assume Commerce is the place to be then. Let me figure out the date they open. I guess it'll have to be a Friday (Fast Friday) for money's sake and for ease.

March 6th is the first day of Fast Friday. This good for all?

Just FYI, the Import Face Off is on March 15th. Some of you might have a chance at winning that but sure not me. I'd go to this just as much as I'd go to Fast Friday.

good luck even getting through the gate march 6th

Well I am just trying to make something happen and keep my poor little thread alive. Putting ideas out there. And I know, March 6th is a long shot because every ricer, tuner, muscle car freak, two wheel tuner, and all around car nut will be there. We need more .25 mile dragways around here.

I had an idea for a place to come and AutoX during the offseasons or just for extra practice. The old Sam's club building and parking lot in Oakwood. It's huge. I thought you could buy the property, and then make an indoor to outside track. Like, it runs outside and goes through the building, then back out again. It'd be sick. Expensive, liabilties, etc. I know.

Any better ideas than Commerce NOT ON OPENING DAY?

Well nothing major. Just a hangout somewhere. I figure IF we decide Commerce Dragstrip, perhaps some eating prior at one of the fine establishments around the area. There are many... Wendy's, McD's, BK (I think), Taco Bell (I think) and if not fast food I am pretty sure there's a couple sit downs as well (like Longhorn, O' Charleys).

If anyone else has a better idea of location please, I am all ears. I was figuring somewhere like Buford so that it's close for everyone and not just me and Jackelope. However the only thing in Buford is the Oasis Bowl. I know I can get discounts but I can't guarantee everyone could and it's not as cheap as the NP alleyway.

Like I said, all ears.

Hey, great ideas. Perhaps we should make this thread into a poll...

IMAX does sound cool as does Helen. The Mall of Ga is ok... though it does house the IMAX

There is a bowling place in Cumming, GA.. it's affordable from what my husband was telling me.
