Turbo Inlet pipe thoughts and questions.

Well i got the Dash Hawk, but im still debating on the inlet.

Now get the inlet....now that you can monitor your engine's paramerters with the Dash Hawk.

Mine made a big difference and it's the "One" everyone hates to do the installion on. ATP. I took my whole upper car apart to install a MBC with inside cabin boost controll, so most of the crap had to be removed. At the same time I installed an AEM intake, Down Pipe, Boost Cut Killer, and Boost Gauge.

Once you compare the stock inlet pipe to ANYTHING else, you'll quickly see just what a difference an aftermarket inlet pipe can make. (omg)

Yay...i'm supposed to get mine tomorrow from Jarod...

Nvm, I it came in today....sweet!

The aftermarket intakes for the MSP went straight off the turbo and cost the same as a regular intake for the MS3. But then again, it's easier to get to on the MSP.

i wish our ms3 intakes came like this...a full piping straight to the turbo...but i dunno...maybe they sell them separately because the turbo is all the way in the back and the extra piping (inlet) is necessary...and of course they had to make it restrictive like all the other stock parts

I would say the inlet is one of the last bolt on mods to get. When the stock inlet is compared to these aftermarket one, side by side, the volume of air inside looks very close to the same amount, the only difference is the flow will be a little smoother, you might see like 2-5 hp, if that.

So I would say, if you have all the other bolt on parts, than get the inlet, if not, I think you should get something else.

I'm getting a Cobb inlet soon because I think my stock inlet is leaking at the turbo and I don't feel like trying to reseat it. A lot of people installing new inlets say the stocker almost falls off when you pull on it.

Yeah once I get my tax return I think I will be getting the Cobb or the CP-E.

I have my MS CAI running as a SRI so the little bracket the CP-E has might make a big difference for me, since the MS SRI is just hanging without support.

Has anybody done a DH log showing the spool time difference before and after the inlet?

Everybody says the inlet is good for a quicker spool. Just curious if this has actually been quantified or not.

I could be proven wrong, but I don't see anything in an inlet that would show anything noticable.

I have done alot of research both in magazines and other turbo cars and racing mods, upgrading this is really useless and a waste of money and effort according to them. Its more for looks and sound. The only time you would upgrade this is when you change your intercooling system to a much bigger diameter. If you are talking bout heat soak, it is still useless not unless you are always sitting on a traffic and not moving more than 5 to 15 mins. Then yes the silicone tubes can help very little to improve the hot air going to the turbo. But still a very negligible factor.

I might be wrong...

Thats what i hear alot, that its such a useless upgrade...but at 120$ its almost worth it. Hmmmm....

I paid $99. for the Medieval TIP, does the same job as all the others. As far as being useless, I don't think so. The turbo inlet pipes being overpriced, sure...

One company is currently....CorkSport...and I would never buy that.

Because of no air straightner? The corksport intake came out quite a while back, and I still haven't heard a thing about it I'm starting to wonder why?

I can feel a huge difference in the Cobb Inlet vs. stock. The turbo comes on so soon. I think I had a boost leak with the stock inlet though.
