Though I agree with the above statement, most people still think the Miata is a mid-life crisis vehicle. Let me again state, that though I do not agree with most people's assessments of Miatas, this statement is a a bit bold.

I think it was bold for the Japanese to take on the challenge. They still seem to be the ones to beat because some of those that followed have already failed. The MX-5 lives on!

I had a hankering for a MX-5 when they came out in '89. I had kids at home and was still needing a more practical car for daily driving. I was 42, then. It was not until I retired that I was in a position to buy one. It may be a mid-life crisis car for a reason, much like the old Harley riders you see, these days. It also helps to have the free cash to afford them.

if its a midlife crisis car, then I'm screwed... Bought my first MX-5 when I was 22.

as far as needing extra cash to own... nah... with proper planning they make great daily drivers. my miatas cost less than the trucks I had before, and get way better gas mileage.

It is kinda goofy looking, but after about 30 seconds the look kinda grew on me. Know what the face looks like?

Is the 2010 smaller and lighter than the 2008? Or just than other sports cars?

That's true. Mazda designed Miata to compete with in race. It's lightness and performance are its ace that makes it better than other cars. That's the reason why you're very satisfied with Mazda Miata.
