Traded my 08 Mazdaspeed 3 in this past weekend

It won't be as easy to blow up as the handful of MS3's I've seen here go ka-blooey! The AMG engine in them is forged. (drive) 11's on street tires and pump gas is attainable as well. What's there NOT to love about this car (sans the Chrysler hood/side strake styling)?!

It's a slush box but you seem to care mostly about 1/4 times so I suppose it wouldn't matter much to you. How much cargo / ppl can you fit in that thing btw?

Good grief man, if he wanted to haul cargo and people, he would have bought a minivan!

What is it with people on this site and raining on other peoples parades? When did this become the Neon SRT Forums.

seesh!

I am surprised a thread about someone selling his speed3 to buy something else has lasted this long and with some many posts and pages.

I think the point has been made, the OP is happy with his new purchase, he is happy with his car, he doesn't care about cargo space, he's satisfied driving an automatic, and feels his car is fast enough and will be modding with a few things to get it faster, and feels the 1/4 mile times the car puts out are good enough to suffice his craving and help to justify his purchase in his mind.

On to the next thread people :)

I'd gladly take one of these station wagons- if only BMW NA would import it...

You're joking right? If not I'm sorry, we all have our taste

WHat the hell is your problem man??? I simply make a statement that you don't like and you're making issues of it. Meds today?

I'm perfectly sane. I don't need meds. It would seem like you need a hobby of some sort though since you have nothing better to do than come into threads and provoke people needlessly. Renzokuken noticed it and so did I. You bust in here the first thing you do is start talking trash about the original poster and his only caring about "1/4 mile times" and talking other such nonsense. These forums are a less pleasant place to be because of buffoons like you.

It's sad really.

To the original poster, thanks for sharing you new car purchase with us. You didn't come in here and bash MS3's. You were not rude, you just got a new ride and wanted to talk to your Mazda peeps about it. I for one love all kinds of cars so thanks for stirring up conversation about a somewhat rare vehicle.

I'd still have kept the MS3 but thats not the point of your thread. I get that. It's a shame that some others don't.

-100,000,001 = + 1 I win :)
Your math doesn't work out here, and I'm having trouble figuring out what you are saying.

Is the " \ " a typo, and you are saying that 100,000,000 - 100,000,001 = 1 and you win? Because that's dumb, it equals -1 (and you're losing).

Did you mean to use the "\" and are you saying that 100,000,000 / -100,000,001 = 1 and you win? Because that is also dumb, it equals -0.9999 repeating (and while it is a smaller degree of fail, you are still losing).

Help a brother understand your bizarre "new" math.

the point, alexsered, is that the op got a new car and 15min guy has a reason to start getting mad again at the internet people.

i will say this though, aside from his math being off, his last joke was pretty funny. i chuckled

Thanks all for calling 15minute5k on his cr@p. The truth is that I love Mazda and have enjoyed both cars I've owned: Protege5 (hence my original screen name from many years ago) and the Mazdaspeed3. However I'm a car fanatic nut "just" a Mazda fanatic.

I think some people almost get offended when someone trades a car in that they own and love. Almost as if it's downing the car or their decision to buy one. This is certainly not the case. In reality I wish I could have traded my H3 in for the SRT-6 rather than the MS3. People have to keep in mind the Mazda was never fully a daily driver for me. I wanted something fast that was livable from day to day (but not necessarily EVERY day)- certainly not in sub zero temps and snow like it is here in NJ right now.

I'm just sharing my excitement for a car that seems to be a hidden gem. Amazing performance at a wonderful price. I know a lot of people on here are performance oriented thus the great deal of talk was about it's 1/4 performance at the track. After all that's what got me to notice the vehicle in the first place.

PS I just did my first mod, a Needswings Intake which adds similar power as the Cobb SRI on the Mazda. 30hp/20ft/lbs Most have found 12's easily attainable with this single mod. The best I've seen was a 12.7 with only a Needswings intake.

looks sweek. You need to get that cover polished and shiny!

Thanks. Yeah tell me about it- oxidized to all h*ll. (iagree) It's been pretty cold here, and about 5-10 minutes in I start to lose feeling in my hands. I hate the winter. Any product you recommend? Just a basic metal polish?

You just got mad because I don't like the fact that you traded in a car with a manual tranny for an automatic (not a twin clutch gear box with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel) This is a public forum and there's no law for expressing opinions. It's almost like you made this thread to somehow justify your purchase and get a bunch of positive feedback. Newsflash! Not everyone is going to like your stuff (some will say they do just to make you feel better and are jump on the bandwagon) as some of the ppl on this forum are notorious for doing. Anyhow, I did nothing wrong and in the future don't go making threads expecting everyone to agree / like what you did or purchased. My opinion is my opinion, if you don't like it my advice is to just read all the positive ones because obviously your feelings get hurt pretty easily. Besides, big deal man, so what if I don't like your new car because obviously everyone else does. I'm just one person don't take it so personal.

I believe the MS3 is a hatchback not a station wagon. And while they may be very different cars on the surface, they both are designed to go fast and handle well. It's not a logical comparison, but it's not out of the question. I'd love to see them both go around a track like laguna seca stock for stock and see what turns in faster lap times.

The Mazdaspeed3 is faster around Laguna Seca and is actually considered a quicker car overall (although very close!). Attached link explains:

how does that chart make any sense with the comment at the bottom? all the track times are super close, and the s2000 is faster in almost every acceleration catagory, yet it says at the bottom the mazda is noticeably faster???????? doesnt seem right. I would take a s2000 over the mazda any day of the week!
