Projekt UFO manifold nearing completion

Wastegate is divorced, and it screams. I honestly don't care about the welds on this prototype, and I made that clear to my fabricator. Can we please stop talking about the welds.

If the bashing continues, there will be no further production. The welds on the final product will look a lot better. How many times must I repeat myself.

Only if the type of Weld used is different.

And if he was capable of much better welds...he wouldnt even do welding like that as he wouldn't know how to produce a weld of that caliber.

Once you know how to do something Right....it becomes very hard to do it wrong.

Design idea does look OK..I think the second runner needs shortened....but its been discussed already...and depending on what the materials are....It might be OK.

But man he needs to work on his welding...He needs to Backcut his pieces before assembly and get a good Initial Weld before coming back with a Cap....And yes...its been said already....but it does look like he Arc Welded this.
Did he?

i wonder how many times highwayufo has to say "stop talking about the welds, they will be better on the next manifolds, this is a prototype" before people will stop bashing his product.

At least 5 more....Prototype or not....Its no Excuse for Welds like that.
Re-Read my post concerning people that know how to do things.

I honestly don't care whether or not I'm being "picked on." The fact of the matter is that I have voiced why it looks like it does, and for some reason people do not understand that I needed a way out of maintaining the OBX manifold that was on my car.

I can talk all day until I'm blue in the face about how the next batch will look, but people can't seem to comprehend this.

And for those who need to know, the welder used a wire fed mig welder.

My sole purpose was to give us owners an alternative to the OBX, but I'm to the point that I'm ready to let you all figure out what you will be using to upgrade with.

Well, that would be the plan, just testing this one out to see if there are any revisions that will need to be made.

You guys do realize he and anyone else who speaks of the welds are F@cking you right. Trying the best to piss you the F@ck off. They find enjoyment in antagonizing you. This is what you do(jerkit) and carry on with the project dude. Keep doing what you do(breakn)

Still thinking about it. I might start another thread to gauge interest, but I at the very least want to get another one made up to show that the WELDS CAN LOOK BETTER!

Over all it dose not look like a bad idea. Sorry for speaking about the welds, but If your just throwing something together to test it.... then why would it mater what it looks like? As long as it works and fits properly, thats all your really looking for right now. And if your going to use 16 gua steel, its ok to Mig it. But if you go stainless Tig is the best way to go. Really hope you get everything rolling, i might want one. Good luck.

The whole point of showing what the prototype looks like is to gather ideas from other members on what they want to see the finished product to look like. If someone saw a design idea that would work or look better, that would be the purpose of this thread.

With that in mind... why don't you move the#3 cylender to back right portion of the collecter and move the #1 and 2 clockwise?

I'm assuming you have a reason...

The reason the pipes are run the way thet are from what I have gathered is to help get a better grip in the bolts. It's not too bad a design, for the price and as long as it holds up better then the OBX then it's a winner
