So your just driving and like me i have an HKS run on VTA ( i have yet to have backfire or any problems with it) and its pretty loud... but you drive an you get a honda or in my case tonight a new GTI start revving you. riding your ass. driving along side of you. its just funny and annoying. anyways... i dont race i think its stupid. dangerous. and well.... stupid. but anyhow. if you have a story thats similar, tell it. cause in most cases im sure its pretty funny.
 
Some dude in a lifted ass Dodge Ram was next to me at a light the other day (we were in front) when the light turned green he floored it, diesel smoke went everywhere and I just felt stupid for him haha. My dad has a chip in his duramax and I clocked a 5.4 0-60 on his data logger so its pretty quick but most of those lifted trucks are just stupid.
 
Oddly, I don't get it too much in the MS3. I used to get it a lot in my WRX, though. I think our area is more for bimmers and high end cars so the kids don't know what I got, yet. It was like that with my WRX. My '02 was very rare when I got it new ... but now, there are tons of them on the road being 7 years later.
 
When I was stationed out in Georgia driving my miata... I would get tons of mustangs trying to pick a fight. A typical Mustang out in GA looks like this:

I be like, dude, I'm in a miata. Stop trying to get an easy kill. But the honda guys were smart enough not to mess with the Miata. Here are some Georgia Honda Guys: from one of their local clubs.

Now living out here in Vegas, I can't get anyone to mess with either car. Evo and GTi guys just drive by not knowing what the MS3 is and with the Miata they hear the whine of the supercharger and say, "**** that s***."
 
Only a few times in my speed 6. I removed the speed 6 emblems and blacked out the rear M so most people don't know what it is. Had one of those 2 door coupe lexus (prob 2000 model) try to pick a fight. He floored it but too much traffic so I decided not to. He was pretty fast though and had a nice sounding turbo.

I sold my GHL catback however so my car looks stock. Maybe thats why nobody messes with me :).

haha my friends got an older miata fully built for drifting. little car is nuts. pushing 400hp almost... hes like 5'3 so hes really short. i tried squeezing in to drive it and the car just looses traction its really a crazy car. whole new respect for miatas haha.
 
I had a kid in a 2000 or so civic rev on me at a stop light so I revved back and when the light changed he launched super hard and I just cruised like I normally do. I thought it was pretty funny. At the next light he looked at me like wtf? I was do busy laughing to reply.
 
i was stopped at an intersection in full view of one of the funniest "races" i've seen on the road....more pathetic really

there was a porsche either carrera or 911 and an rsx with a body kit and fart can exhaust both in front at a stoplight. the rsx was in the right-most lane, which ends around 1/8 mile after going through the light. and this is one of those intersections that a lot of ppl go into the right lane to try to get in front of all the other cars before their lane runs out.
well the guy in the porsche i could see was laughing, and had a smile on his face the whole time from when the light turned green and the rsx floored it. didn't take the porsche but .5 seconds to come back from behind to 5 car lengths ahead. the best part was i could see the look on the porsche owners face.
 
was with my younger sister in her rsx-s, may it rest in peace, and a couple of guys in a GT mustang decided that they wanted to have a go. now she isn't like me, she doesn't laugh it off... and believe me, she could shift that lil' bastid so fast... she didn't rev, or nothing, just right before the light turned green, WAAAAA BLAMMM, and she was gone.. no way those dorks had a chance. next stop light, they are all ready... power braking the poor thing... trying to get it to leave.... same thing... WWWAAAAAAAABLAMWAABLAMWWWAAAAABLAM and they are back there again.....

next light about a mile down the road, and she rolls down the window... 'had enough?'... they were just scratching their heads...

that was the day i started re-thinking front wheel drive performance cars....
 
BTW a friend of dad's at work (he is retired, shell oil), had a 'monster miata' i think it was called... had a 302 ford engine... dad said it was terrifying and he loved every minute of the ride... said it felt a lot like the old sunbeam tiger his brother had....



i don't care for street racing, like with traffic, etc.. now if the conditions are right... no problem. go for it.. empty road... no side streets, deserted, back country... ok. where i live it is too easy to run out to a back road somewhere and have a go and settle it, or test out that new part/tune... only thing that sees you are the cows... lonely interstate way out west past houston... or 90 mile stretch between matagorda and corpus and you haven't seen another car in over 30 minutes...

perfect. just make sure you have plenty of gas.

No one ever messes with my car, not really sure why either. I just removed my two resonators and the car is a lot louder so maybe I won't be so lucky.

Man, they are getting crazy now with motor swaps in the miata. SC400 V8 twin turbo, LS1,LS2, LS6, SR20's, F20C's, 20B TT's, 302's, 4.0 Jag V12's, and 1jz gte. Everyone has gone mad.

i was with one of my friends and we just got off the highway. we were at a red light and were making a left, and so was a ford focus hatchback he was in the left lane next to us. (my car has blacked out emblems and the "Mazdaspeed3 is removed so dumb ppl think its a 3 hatch) light turns green, and im just casually going and they were like 1/2 car ahead of us and the kid sitting shotty was looking back like oh yeah we got them!.. so i look at my friend and im like watch this.. down shift to 4th and go from like 55 to about 95 with the kid in the dust
all of a sudden my V1 went off so i jammed on hte breaks back down to 60, the kids fly past me doing at least 100. a trooper came around the corner, whiped around and blew past me and pulled the kids over
it was ******* hilarious! and i just drove right past them laughing
